I had the same thought when I got Iron Sky in hand. The engineering didn’t seem that much more complex or sophisticated than a comparably priced Hasbro mass market release. So why is Hasbro’s stuff so ugly? It’s full of gaps, blocky, etc. I’m sure there are costs and other factors we are not well placed to understand but it’s still a bit of a head scratcher.

 

I hope they will make other color versions?

@Sovietbot Nice. I would imagine the Diaclone deco is a gimme but beyond that is anyone's guess. Maybe a Doubledealer-inspired deco? I know Hasbro reused their Generations Blitzwing mold for him so it's possible, and not a bad scheme.

That torso looks so long. In the picture with the sword, it looks okay but hopefully in color it looks more natural.

Cool. I really wanted a Blitzwing and Astrotrain to go with my legend scale Decepts, this works for me as long as the height is right. The only thing that kind of annoys me is that unfortunate hinge at the midsection. Maybe the coloring will downplay/camoflauge it a bit. If not maybe I'll just paint the outer part of the hinge black or brown and paint his initials in gold in the middle so it looks like he's wearing a belt.

 

that hinge they use is actually super lazy. instead of having the wings/arms swing down. they should have just gone the same route IF did. it would have left us with a much better bot who could have had a real waist in the end. but oh well what can you do.

 

Agreed, it's a slight bummer BUT,,, anybody who really can't get over it can wait 2-4 years for NewAge or Magic Square to release one   On the bright side, it'll compliment the diaper flap on my Jinbao Optimus

Couldn’t be happier with this. I am thrilled to be getting all three of the Decepticon triple boys from MFT in such quick succession.

 

yeah, i knew he had a waist we all did. it is pretty obvious that it will be exactly like astrotrain's. the pelvis flap is a non issue for me i can except it.

but this is the hinge i am talking about. this pivot hinge on the other hand is super lazy if you ask me. if it allowed the turret to be tucked in i could look past it. but i dont think they are ever going that direction.

Yup, it is confirm by @MechanicToys weibo that there's 3 more triple changer is on the way, I assume is Sandstorm, Broadside and Springer.

As for the waist part of Blitzwing, @MechanicToys said they will revise the design with the designer.

 

I’m liking the look of this. too bad it’s Legends.

Hopefully some other 3P can take some cues from this and make a larger one.

Maybe I can entertain getting this one still...
