No idea what this repaint is referencing, but I sure like how it looks.

Screw it, I think I'm gonna order it and make it SG Blitzwing. I know, SG Blitzwing already has an existing color scheme (red and grey, based on Broadside) but I exert some wiggle room for SG in my Legends collection. Appropriately, I already made the light-grey-and-purple MFT Astrotrain into an SG version (and actually the black/red Sixshot, too) so I'm gonna chalk this one up as "close enough."

and not the repaint of Blitzwing, which I know is a real toy that exists/will exist.

Seems the pin that came out before tf'ing is gonna come out every time. Easy to put back in, just seems odd as there's no warping in the pin hole or damage to the pin. Maybe it's just a bit too short?

I dunno, guess I just won't tf him too much. At least it doesn't affect posing!

 

I have this issue on the right wrist of their Octane. I have to carefully press it back in with a nickel every now and then.

Thanks. It's not a big deal, but it is a reminder that, as good as these figures are, they are still coming from a company transitioning over from being a knockoff manufacturer. They haven't quite stepped up their QC game yet.

 

Finally got mine in the mail. He's great. Tank mode looks a little wide.

It blows my mind that he is the exact same size as the G1. The G1 seemed like a substantial toy when I was a kid, and this guy is what we consider tiny now.

Not really. The arms unhook from the body easily, but it's not a huge issue.

Honestly, we’re getting to the point where legends scaled toys are the best looking G1 representations of all these characters.

 

I’m testing the waters to see if I should give up mainline stuff and stick to third party as much as possible for space reasons. I can’t keep up with what’s coming out either anymore so I figured it was time for a shake up.

For some reason I feel like they’ve taken the G1 toy and come out with what the G1 toy would have been had the engineering levels of today existed back then. It’s lovely.

 

Finally completed this awesome trio. I am so happy. Blitzwing is so freaking good. Astrotrain comes close 2nd while Octane is the weakest of the bunch.
