They both work. We’re so used to the mp being ridiculously tall that the mft works too. For me the mft Magnus goes with their sixshot more than ms prime

    Sitting bored in an airport...
Impulse buying delta Magnus. No clue who he is but he looks like ultra Magnus in a cooler outfit.

Delta is Ultra Magnus albeit in a different colour scheme, at least that's one wise sage here in TFW2005 (sorry sir, forgot your handle). Ultra was briefly shown Delta's colours in early The Transformers Movie commercials.

It's a repaint based on the original Diaclone version of Power Convoy, the toy that would go on to be Ultra Magnus.

Takara put out a UM repaint in these colors a few years back.

"The colour scheme itself is based on the 1984 Diaclone Powered Convoy which eventually became Ultra Magnus in the Transformers toy line in 1986. In the Japanese trailer of Transformers the Movie, there is a brief scene of Ultra Magnus running through Autobot City in the same colours as the Diaclone version (see above)."

All that to say, yes, Delta Magnus is Ultra Magnus wearing a different outfit.

    @deaculpa
Not just running, you get to see him lean over and push buttons, too!

Plus this has a few other scenes not in the final version of the movie.

::edit:: OMG, it's Dirge who's leading the attack on Delta Magnus! Maybe this is why his actor is credited----was this scene (or an unknown one right before grand) actually voiced/finished early in production, then had to be cut later because it was "the wrong Magnus"?

You're about to go from a flip phone to having mental telepathy. Those two are years and leagues apart.

Has anyone modded/shaved off plastic on the thighs to make his legs more posable?

Just to try and get little more posability out of the legs. They seem kind of restricted up top

Mine finally arrived! It's nice, and fits well with my other 1:54 bots

    Thoughts:
-Plastic super glossy, which is cool, but it makes the figure look/feel sort of slippery
-Improvements were great, the Matrix looks good with MS Optimus too
-They didn't improve the ankle articulation, which would've been relatively easy to do, which is hard to forgive
-Scale matches the tfwiki official scale list better, might be a bit big for the sunbow chart, but as the vehicle mode is still too small so the OSing was necessary imo
-Joints are hit or miss, the bicep swivel actually separates the upper shoulder when turned, which is kinda cringe
    -Colours are nice and vivid
    -Visible sprue marks don't help
-Face sculpt is a lot better, but the paint is jagged and messy, giving him a 'mascara tears' appearance, which makes him look like he's been doing something that probably shouldn't be mentioned on this forum
-Handling him gives off 'hollow plastic noises'
    -Lots of sharp, hard edges

It's a good attempt, but it pretty much entirely coasts on the original's design. I'd only recommend looking into it if you really need the little improvements with the matrix/ramp/scale/sculpt/colour. Other than that, it's generally a downgrade

Um... crying? Crying shouldn't be mentioned in this forum? It's kinda fucked up that you see 'mascara tears' and your mind goes there before the much more likely and obvious answer of crying. The world must look really messed up through your eyes.

Plus, Magnus would never cry, so it's the only logical explanation

Magnus must have been ecstatic when he was being pulled apart by Galvatron and his lackeys
