Trypticon could be that three headed dragon in Transformers 5. As for Metroplex, I do not know.

Very true but if he's going by 3 heads because Trypticon's name suggests the number 3, The dragon could also be Alpha Trion as well. Or it could be a movie base Scourge as he once was a 3 headed dragon. Or as I predict, the dragon could be a Prime and be Onyx Prime "the first beast former" and were all beast Formers come from. He's a black dragon and Onyx would also fit

Actually, it's more specifically a Triptych, which is something formed from three hinged panels - effectively the original toy's transformation being the name basis.

Going off three heads is more in line with the Hydra or concept of Ceberus.

Because Alpha Trion is known for being a Decepticon as opposed to the fact there's a fair number of Decepticons with multiple dragon heads that would fit if the movies actually cared about alt. modes to names? Hun-Grr, for instance, is one of the more famous, or Predaking who is the most recent thanks to Prime.

Naming the beast after the guy from Cybertron in the same film there is an evil Optimus Prime would really be an insult to the fandom.

...remind me why The Fallen wanted Prime dead? Because if Onyx Prime is alive then that kind of is a glaring plot hole.

Those kind of subversive homages that buck trends in favour of obscure callbacks were what people loved not that long ago.

 

Prime's kind of soured me on that, admittedly, after the mile-a-minute crap where they name dropped so many things for no payoff.

That's not what you asked in the first place. You asked what their movieverse could be and I gave my guess. Apparently it was wrong. Well I can't help you with your second question it seems nor can I help you with this entire thread.

 

I think "City" is kind of misleading because every time one of the big bots shows up, they aren't actually an entire city, but just a large portion of it. For example:


Accounting for the size of TFs over humans, Metroplex probably would be about the majority of Rapture.


But while it totally would be doable in a sense given physics doesn't apply anymore in the films...a better question is would they even bother? The track record for single, big CGI processing sinks is reliable in how big a failure they are to actually do anything. Devestator was next to useless in combat, Shockwave's worm blew up after like, five shots from Prime's gun in DOTM, and what the hell was the point of the Gravity Ship in AoE anyway? It's worthless, hollow spectacle to keep trying to do these white elephant centerpieces that never get used to the full of their potential, sucking up CGI that could go to actually giving more robot screentime (as in the Decepticons actually having some character moments for once).

 

I wish someone could design them.

 

Eh well to give the ship one credit, Lockdown was using it as a way to recapture Optimus and the Dinobots. It was already established he didn't mind picking up stragglers in the process since he would only simply dispose of them later. But yeah Devastator was next to useless, aside from uncovering the sun harvester, he didn't contribute much. I honestly forget about the worm thing in DotM, I really need to rewatch that film.

Though I have a question that's slightly off topic. When you mentioned the worm thing, do you think Transformers Devastation handled that concept better or worse?
