    Just last month i saw my first shooting star it was around 5:30 am it happened.

    Which direction should I be looking from Cali? Obviously up, but East, West, North or South?

    Here you go optics.

    The article states best viewing is shortly after midnight.

    Also you should look toward the constellation of Gemini to the east in the evening.

    Spent a good five minutes outside and nothing yet.

    A tad chilly to stay outside for a prolonged period.

    I'll try again every half hour or so.

    It's unfortunately really cloudy out tonight. :(  I took a look when I was out with Bella and I couldn't even see a single star. But I guess it IS the middle of winter after all.
