I get the feeling the little tab on the back of the missiles isn't there for any reason, I've found a few places where i could put the missiles in other modes, but sometimes the tab hinders.
    Thinking of removing it completely

also Wheelie. Back to this figure. I really enjoy how when in vehicle mode if you look under the car the silver arm that has all of the engine detailing on it falls right in line up under where the engine actually is molded on the top of the car. It's like it's actually turning into the engine and I love that sort of thing with engineering. And the way the front hooks up reminds me of a transaxle in the middle. Also finally took a paper clip and pulled up the tail wing. Honestly thought I was going to break it for a while and then it's smoothly slid up after a loud pop. When I push it down all the way I hear the loud pop again so I guess it locks into place.

Is this post directed at me? Well, Drift has 3 modes so I decided that I am going to display him in all of his modes!

This video pretty much says what I think of Drift's chopper mode

It hurts my brain when he calls Drift a "double changer" and then refers to the armor on Drift's thighs as "knee pads".

Yeah, but the general idea that the helicopter mode is made out of exposed car and robot mode parts is what it's highlighted in the video

True, and it's a good point.
Someone (not sure who, too lazy to check) earlier in the thread, said that they usually consider the weaker mode of a triple changer to be a utility mode, and I agree with that sentiment.
I look at Drift's helicopter mode as not a disguise, but simply a mode that allows him to fly. As such it has no need to look like a real helicopter, all it needs to do is serve the utility purpose of being a flight mode.

Also, I have seen a number of posts saying that the heli mode does not hold together well, and I disagree (at least on my copy).
You do need to get the hips/upper-legs positioned just right so that the pegs all line up correctly. But when I get that part right I have found that heli mode holds together fairly solidly.
Some times I have had it work really well and other times not so much. When I figure out the exact correct alignment I will probably post some pics to help others.

Drift motivated me to finally mod my OS BB that I’d mostly forgotten after mpm sort of became the go to size. (I also have a very similar BB at mpm size)

that’s the one everyone but me hates.

the popular one is slightly smaller. I always felt like this one was too big for the mpms and looked more human alliance sized. I think this one looks better- but I’ve never transformed him.

Looks cool! I'm guessing you used a mpm bee ko as a base, but which one is that size? Those 3 look great together. Does that bee transform or is only the chest modded?

Tfevo's right? I like the chest and legs on this guy better, but by the time I was in the market for what would be the third figure in my collection, only TH01 la Hire ko was available. What's wrong with him anyways? I remember hearing complaints

-Good question. It is the slightly oversized ko. Knowing there is also a much larger Ko as well, I’m not positive what defined the size (I bought him for this custom a few years back and lost interest/didn’t get to it until Drift showed up also too big). He’s probably around an inch taller than the official.

I kind of recall it was maybe called blue hornet. Not positive though.

it doesn’t transform. It’s just a different front glued on and paint work.

at mpm scale you can actually use the chest from the old deluxe. For this one I used a weird ko I bought years ago that really was sub par.

I did the exact same thing at mpm scale for both this guy and the 70’s version fron the beginning of the 07 movie (used a model kit for the car front on that one). I wouldn’t be surprised if we finally get a 70’s bb mpm tying into Rise of the beasts- but unless they get ambitious and have change out body panels he’ll probably just resemble the Bb movie.

    Tfevo, yes!

I remember everyone hates him and thought he was badly constructed. I’ve had nonissues, but I’ve never transformed him.

the packaging wasn’t great and the head had fallen off many figures in shipping but it easily reattached.

i don’t recall why everyone hates him, but they did.

so got around to transforming him here’s my thoughts

    68823C18-CD8A-48F9-90F7-C2D8512E8C00.jpeg

*robot mode is very nice has a nice back and no kibble on it articulation could have been better no hand swivel which is something he could have used imo has an arm swivel so it makes up for it I suppose also has a hand rocker so he can do more forward sword poses now with the legs the armor pads on the legs block the legs from bending more although they are spring loaded so it helps somewhat I’m wondering how they could have put hinges on them to make so you could have bent them upwards so you could have more upwards movement maybe feet are on rockers pretty good range on one of my feet they are sort of loose but not too bad

*transformation wasn’t as hard as people were saying it was everything goes where it should only thing I found annoying was the legs

*car mode is really nice I love how it looks feels very solid not much else to say
