You’ve been given a screen accurate black magic triple changing Drift design wise at the very least, and at a decent scale and a very fair price imo. Just have to take that for what it is and hope they and come out with a V2 that’s closer. Maybe the second batch will be more to your tastes but I think it’s a very odd hill to pick and die on. Let it go now, you’ve said your piece.

Received him today, went from car to bot and back.

First impressions, smaller than i anticipated.
the complexity is on par with the TC Bumblebee.
Had to look up some pics an how the arms need to sit in car mode, other than that, it nearly explains itself. Just take your time and don't force anything

Gonna practice the transformation like this a few times before i take a shot at the helicopter mode

 

I think if the blades were longer and sat lower in heli mode it would improve the look.

 

I know someone on ig posted 3d printed blades that are much longer I don't remember the account though

Yeah that's the one! I know this guy usually is either selling the product on behalf of the creator or is just showcasing it, so I don't know how obtainable that sword is. He also sells a couple stl files, but not often so I don't know if that would be one of them. Love his page overall.

Holy shit I finally have him! I don’t usually post box pics but this is one of the nicest boxes I’ve received for sure! I like how small and compact it is as well. I won’t have time to transform it til tonight cause I had to go pick him up at the post office on my way to work today but just seeing the car mode has got me so excited! And those awesome swords. Instruction booklet is thiiick, too! I will note that despite the protective film on the windshield, mine does have a couple very minor scratches on it right out of the box. Everything else seems fine so far though.

Swiss Army Drift

So I actually discovered that one of the two scratches was just a smudge, so only one small scratch for me. Not bad at all!

 

I've spent literally 2 hours trying to get him into helicopter mode.

Didn't look at the instructions, did look at some of the videos out there.
My opinion, they all mistransformed him...

They all have the face pointing downwards.
While it is possible, that's not how i think it should work. You get some clearance issues with the shoulder pads and his spikes on the head.
If you turn the head around, you can fold it back and then the top of the helicopter looks like this.


There is no other reason for the head to flip like it does, other than this...

 

For those getting drift in hand, I would love to see this box art recreated.  

 

I agree with those who think transformers should be packaged in alt mode whenever possible. I've been enjoying staring at the car mode, exploring its intricacies (I'd not realized that the side mirrors came separate and that they have stickers to mimic the mirrors!), and generally being excited for the robot within. Also, I discovered that you can mount the missiles on the sides, if you want to. I think it's kind of a cool and subtle thing for a car to have!

 

And I thought I was the only one who loves to stare at these gorgeous looking tfs, glad you got a good copy of the figure unlike some other members

 

That blue is really dark. If I turned my brightness down, it might even look bla-

Yesterday before i went to helicopter mode, i went from car to bot and it went a lot smoother than the first time.
The legs are really intuitive, and it all works.
One of the sliders for the arms is hard, the other one is loose enough. i have a hard time keeping the little tab for the back panel clipped in, that could have used a slightly bigger hook.
Clearance all seems good, only thing is the feet when you flip the side of the car to form the leg.

Going to helicopter mode, the arms are the hardest part, to get them all lined up properly, also with the angle of the main rotor. Make sure those are in line or the legs won't work. Have to use the shoulder joint to angle them up.
also had to look up some video's how it all pegs together. Need to flip the piece from the silver arm up and around and tab it into the windows.
Arms need to go handpalm facing out, i was trying it the other way first...
The legs don't really peg in, there are tabs but they don't hold, its all just resting.

Like others have said, its a throw away mode, kinda more a gimmick for sales. Doubt I'll ever to it again...
