I can see the appeal of simple transformations, complex ones, easy ones and hard ones, but one thing is a fact. This is a triple changer, it will be a pita

Doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be. Dx9 triple changers for example.

They're blocky G1 triple changers, though so they're probably easier to engineer. Live action movie triple changers? MetaGate's the only one who has the balls to do them. Regardless Haiku's transformation for me hits just the right spot between complex and simple. You just have to learn him specially that arm positioning in car mode. I'm gonna put faith in MetaGate to deliver on this Shatter not having a nightmare transformation.

I feel like it’s less about them being blocky or not, and more about how you approach them. There’s plenty of g1 blocky triple changers outside of dx9 that are horrible messy transformations. You just have to be more clever with what parts of the robot and vehicle you use for each mode.

Maybe, but movie designs generally are more complicated to tackle

...and some of us like transformations that exist within the vast, VAST middle ground that you apparently don't know exists.
I can't believe we still have to explain this to people, in 2023.

To me, a transformation isn't just described as simple or complex. It can also be smooth or clunky on top of that. A figure can have a very complex transformation that is smooth and enjoyable and another figure can have a simple transformation that is clunky and frustrating.

A good example of this is between Mackron and Desperado. Both have complex transformations but Mackron's is frustrating to do while Desperado's is smooth and enjoyable. As long as this figure's transformation is smooth and enjoyable, I'll be happy as I think it's more important than if it's complex in general

That's what I expect from Red Fantasy, to be an elaborate transformation (a lot to do) but not unnecessarily complicated

    Totally agree with this!
I hope so too. If haiku is anything to go off of, she will be fun to transform, hopefully.

I'm hoping it's smooth too! I just don't know how likely that is

Sorry for ‘bumping’, I’m new to forums

I mean to say that people hype up triple changers and get disappointed a lot because of the complicated transformations

I don't like complicated transformations, but I am willing to acept them as long as all the modes look as good as possible and the toy is sturdy.

Complicated transformations aren't the end of the world, as long as it's not Alien Attack's style of "a piece falls off each time you look at it funny" or Fanstoys Rouge's style of "converting consists of turning it into spaghetti". As long as nothing is falling off and it's not a complete floppy jumble of parts between each mode, it's already pretty good in my book
