Got mine in today, has anyone found a better way to transform the beast mode neck? Because other than that I'm very happy with this. Good build quality and paint, transformation aside from the beast mode neck and robot mode head is good. Excited to see what this company does next, I think they teased a Bludgeon and I'd love that.

is there always such a delay for these 3P figures? Seems like a lot of people got theirs from overseas already?

 

The delay depends on the company, this is only Metagate's 2nd release so not much history to judge on. If someone remembers with Haiku we would have a sample size of two, but could still change easily even if they are the same.

 

I meant a delay in getting these to the typical online US retailers (BBTS, TFSource, etc)

This is a case of both, the 3P company and retailer in question both affect it. I THINK one factor is whether they air ship it in or have it come over on a ship.

I just remembered you asked about BBTS specifically in your initial question. I don't shop with them, but in the threads I follow they tend to be late often, but there are occasional cases where they are first. I have no idea on threads I don't follow though.

That was a pretty damn good impression by Jobby.

 

I finally figured how to always get the ends of the foot to tab into the wings in alt mode. It has to do with the angle you fold the wings down. It's really easy when transforming to have the wing bits extend too far for the foot-wing to tab in properly. You need to angle the body hinge of the wings slightly down, and then bend the middle wing hinges back up slightly to shorten the wingspan a bit. That lets the foot tab into the wings perfectly on mine.

I could take a swing at making a visual guide. Is anyone else having this issue?

I liked how the eyes looked here so tried it myself. For anyone who wants an easier way to do this here's what I did since I'm not a great painter and don't have super fine tipped brushes:

Paint the entire eye black and wait for it to dry. Dont worry about going outside the lines. Now take a toothpick and clean up around the eye where you painted outside of it. Use multiple toothpicks.

Use a toothpick to scrape away where you want the red iris, rounding it and making it as big as you want. It reveals the red underneath and is very forgiving.

Now use the tip of a toothpick to place the yellow pupil. You can scrape it away and try again if you're careful without having to repaint anything.

It's pretty fast to do and very forgiving. I think it's worth it since it makes the faces more interesting.

 

Any word on getting a Fractyl repaint?
