Phenomenal. As suspected, no where near as frustrating or difficult as implied by some reviews.

absolutely no mind, there’s a huge amount of whining and bias with some of them so even if a figure is by all standards actually a decent product it’ll still be looked at subjectively whether it’s actually crap or not. He looks great!

 

There must be something in the air, between me looking at Beast Wars MPs, the CNY lull in G1 MPs, and me buying a few legends recently, where I'm now wishing there were a legends scale version of this (and the rest of BW, but this guy specifically) to hang from the rear view mirror of my car. Could just use this figure but it's probably too pointy for that to be safe.

Yeah having this dangle in front of your face while driving might be a bit crazy, there's the original Beast Wars basic Terrorsaur, it's far smaller and lighter and not sharp at all lol. Perhaps that's a more suitable fuzzy dice replacement? ( basic is the name of legends class in the 90's) it was reissued recently too so should be cheap and easy to find for you.

 

Walking position in beast mode has grown on me in person, I think this is pretty decent. He would stand like this in beast mode from time to time on the show. Of course it'd be great to pose him in that unique walk pterodactyls do, kind of like hoping on crutches but as it is you can curl the wing tips in for some expression.

 

Huh. Just noticed something weird on my copy. Are the eyes supposed to be poseable or something? One of them is pointing in a completely different direction from the other. (^.^') And it's not paint that's applied wrongly either.

 

Yeah they move, I find moving them on purpose tricky though. The pupils protrude so it gives you an edge to push against with the point of a toothpick but honestly I have more success just tapping the top of the head until the eyes look symmetrical.

This guy is fantastic. Just received mine yesterday: Great representation of the animation, beautiful paint, lots of metal and heft for such a thin robot mode, transformation is fun and intuitive, much smoother than the reviewers made it look.

I will say that beast neck hinge is the worst part of the transformation, and is still bothersome. But if you leave enough of a gap, and get the two "kneecaps" in the right configuration, it's much easier.

Fantastic that we FINALLY have some third party S1 characters. I hope Metagate keeps going with these. Now I just need to paint that face.

With some KO beasts

 

Mine showed up today, even though tracking says it's still awaiting handoff to USPS a few states away.

Complaints are largely the same as everyone else's- face paint, beast neck transformation, robot neck is too thin, etc. I also understand why this isn't the case, but I do wish he could bend his wings inward (not just the transformation joints) and stand on his own well enough for me to comfortably stand him in a display. That being said, display stand doesn't stick out as much as I thought it might.

Aside from that? EXCELLENT release. I very much recognize that he could be more accurate and has some minor design flaws, but overall I'm still in awe that we have a figure of this caliber and it isn't a kibbly mess. Putting it in the display case, it just looks right. If a more accurate release ever comes out I'll likely grab it, but Terrorsaur is not a character I see ever getting another toy this nice, and I wouldn't be mad at all if this was the one that stayed in my MP display forever. Another great product from Metagate.

 

The materials and joints are excellent. My only problem is the wing in the left arm is a little loose, but a quarter of a twist with a screwdriver fixed it.

 

Would someone who has this (or will soon) please take pictures in beast mode next FT and/or GP Swoop? Just curious to see them together.

 

God, the more I see of this guy…is making me more and more impatient waiting to get him. lol

…also makes me wish that the next figure they (Metagate) make is a Show accurate MP Scale Scoponok!!!

 

Love this figure. My only complaints with the bot mode are the face not being painted fully, the thumbs and the ankle articulation. As for beast mode, i really wish his wings could move a little more but wow what a figure!
