I don't even have Metagate Terrorsaur, and I'm still in awe at how well they did.

 

Well it looks fine when on the display. You just want to not be looking at his belly.

 

Recieved mine from Bombusbee today (Sunday!)

I managed to paint the inside of the chin strap, the small pistols barrel metallic red and the robot neck joint German Grey.

This is my second third party figure ever, first was TM2 Meg's by JX, I just had to try this one given how much I like Terrorsaurs design.

I'm very impressed by this, it's so clever. A hard design to execute and they've cracked it with a surprisingly easy and fun transformation. I really hope this causes more Terrorsaurs to be made now that there's a great transformation scheme to build from.

these shots remind me of the old back of the package shots of the BW toys. That background was more rocky/tan, but these still have a little of that feel.

 

Thanks. Here's a full shot of the shelf, its meant for tools so its stainless steel. And to make the jungle I just used crystals, river pebbles, fake grass and plants. Stuff you can get at dollar store/craft like places even hardware stores in the decorating sections.

 

Did MetaGate address if the second batch is going to have the helmed fully painted so it doesn't look like the face and helmet melt into one?

 

What they should have done was make the face a separate insert from the helmet.

Factory painting techniques don't really handle those type of deep cut lines very well.

Got mine as well....why it came on a Sunday I don't know, painted one of the faces and will post more pics when I finish the other faces. Now if those other packages that were shipped weeks before by the same online company would show up..... I hate Chinese New Year...
In the mean time threw it on the season one shelf till I have more time.

 

It's comparable to most of the official ones. Except for Megatron, they're all pretty iffy.

 

Eh, I'm happy with them. They could've done a lot worse with the beast modes.

I know it's been said many, many times before, by people here more eloquent than I...But designing a TF that converts from a humanoid robot mode into an organic shape that can be wildly inhuman is harder than fitting a robot into a (usually) angular vehicle mode.

 

What's the quality like on these?

I just watched a review and the transformation is amazing. I'd convinced myself that it was a parts former.

 

On a side note, which version of inferno, and airazor are these please

 

That's the Legacy Inferno with what appears to be a custom gun, and that's a custom painted Kingdom Airrazor.

 

I’ve never tried to hide my dislike for Beast Wars. The concept, the story, the animation, the character models, the dialogue, the voice acting… I find it all generally dissatisfying and at times outright repugnant. With that full disclosure out of the way:

Wow, this is an impressive figure! The transformation is creative and clever, the proportions are spot-on, and the sculpted details and finish are very nice. I thought the initial design renders looked bland, but this looks great in its finalized state. I wish the sides of the helmet were fully painted to better delineate the face, and it’d be nice if the facial features had sharper sculpting— they’re a bit soft. I almost feel that the Kingdom figure has a better overall face sculpt.

Even as a BW “hater”, I find this figure somewhat tempting. If I were a fan of the series, I’d be genuinely excited to pick this up.

Me too! Like many others, my tracking doesn't have any updates but I'm hoping be just shows up any day now.

Are you thinking of painting his face? I saw a post of someone doing it & it helps make his face stand out a bit more.

 

Contacted BBB about mine and it sounds like my order is part of the second batch that they're still waiting on. I thought I got in on the first batch but I guess not. Hopefully they get it in soon.
