And with this, the Bobby Swear Jar has begun collecting again! Good luck to the next person to post here without mentioning Mr. Skullface, the total to beat from yesterday is 1.25, with .25 going to each post that mentions BSF. May they reach 1.50!

Lol is that your way to get people to stop critiquing BSF? Someone cares a little too much.

My order from showz is not showing any tracking at all, but I guess it's like others said where the package just shows up anyway. Hoping for any day now, this thing looks stunning.

I deeply care! I seriously do DEEPLY CARE ABOUT THIS.

-Or-(And I admit that this next thing is highly unlikely considering how personally I take the BSF critiques, as critiques of myself or the things I like)

I'm turning the mind-numbing boredom-with people semi-regularly turning the threads I follow into a deeply boring slog by talking about a reviewer more than they talk about the topic-into a fun game for myself to stay engaged.

But no it's definitely the first thing. I'm a very sensitive boy.

Bsf did a review of this figure, and people are critiquing his review. It's all relevant and fair game. If you find it boring, you could just scroll past but you are actively looking to create drama. It is absolutely fair for people to call him out because others who watch his video might be new to the fact that he does not present figures well. This can spur those same people to look for other videos to actually make up their mind on a purchase.
You clearly just care too much about Bsf and if anything, are the only one here being completely off topic with every post. So yeah, stop being sensitive and take it somewhere else.

    If the lesson here is:
if someone is saying something, anything about a topic that I don't like, that the right thing to do is to ignore it, or not engage with it, or point out what I don't like, or even contribute at all if I disagree, because that is creating drama and I don't have a right to say that because it's actually not all relevant and fair game...
    -consider that particular lesson learned.

Tbh I wouldn't normally care about being off topic (ft marauder thread definitely goes all over the place given the stagnation of news) but you set the rules just now by saying if the posts aren't on topic, then they are boring and bad, so I just applied those rules to you since you didn't really make any posts actually about this figure for the last couple pages or whatever.

Just relax and move on, no one here is going insane and attacking him, we're just annoyed to see any figure being undervalued by who is arguably a famous and likely influential youtube content creator when we all collectively know he has many bad takes including this one. It is all within the umbrella of discussing the toys, so the whole swear jar thing is inflammatory at worst and petty (and dull) at best. You not liking us critiquing Bsf is not a valid reason for your behaviour (nor is it engaging in verbal discourse in good faith) given we are still on topic.

Let's agree to both stop discussing this so we can end it before mods come in.

Ok. Agreed to stop talking about this. I do think it's both hilarious and kind of a shame that my dislike of him as a reviewer is the very thing that makes it look like I'm coming to his defense, but so goes the internet. I'm sorry we don't both find this funny and will now return to legitimately enjoying your posts. Cheers.

I didn't realize you didn't like him, but regardless of that, you didn't like people mentioning him when it is fair game. The swear jar definitely looked like you were trying to curb that behavior. Anyway, moving on.

Haha the swear jar was something I started joking about a few months back. In one of the threads there was something like three full pages of people just talking about Bobby and not talking about the topic. wasn't the first time, won't be the last. It's simple, throw a quarter in the jar when he comes up. For every consecutive post, add another quarter. First post to break the cycle gets the jar. a few people thought it was funny and harmless at the time. But I guess today it wasn't.
If I could, I really would use real money and really give it to the lucky user because that would warm my heart. But I mean, you know. Three straight pages is kind of a lot of money.

OK for real seriously moving on.

3 pages is excessive, I won't argue that, but hey, that's the reaction he stirs up. I see some people come in and get super butthurt about people critiquing him so I thought you were doing that in a passive aggressive way, but you seem chill enough after reading your posts that I was probably being overly sparky about it.
You could always just do the swear jar for yourself anyway, and then bring it to a TF convention and get BSF to sign it and then raffle it off and give the money to a charity, lol.

On topic, showz hasn't replied to me about why I'm not seeing status updates. Anyway else in the same boat? They are usually really good at communicating.

Dude. Dude. Dude. This is actually a FANTASTIC idea. I love it!

Also to get myself back on topic here, the whole reason I even ended up in this thread is because I was curious to see if this would be a good BW figure to start with as someone who doesn't own any yet. Seems like it could be.

Of the MP BW figures I have, I'd personally rank Takara Megatron and maybe Optimus Primal as the top. Megatron because I think his character design is one of the all-time best, and the MP is a fantastic implementation of it; there are some scary bits to the transformation, notably untabbing the two halves of the body along the spine, but the way the body shells collapse and fold for robot mode is impressive, and the robot himself looks dope and imposing. Primal because he's probably the least fussy and janky, and the most solid, BW MP; there are almost no weird bits hanging off in beast mode, there are no thin parts that are sweat-inducing to detach, etc. Just a nice chunky monkey with some neat gimmicks.

Takara Cheetor looks incredible in bot-mode, practically right off the screen, but beast mode leaves a lot to be desired.

I think the recent TransArt Transmetal Megatron and Rattrap are excellent, and their Cheetor is similar to Takara Primal in that he's not too fussy of a toy - easy to handle and transform.

In terms of which BW figure to start with, though, the Takara ones - even though I think they're actually the best - will probably be the hardest to recommend, because most of them are out-of-print, and are pretty expensive. The TransArt ones would be easier and cheaper to find.

I don't think Air King is the best starter BW MP, because - even though I largely disagree with BSF's review - I do find that this toy doesn't tab in solidly in some places in beast mode, and there are some tolerance issues, and the transformation generally is more fiddly than some of the other BW MPs.

Yeah I periodically check the prices on the officials and wow. That's a high barrier to entry.
I really just want the season 1 cast, so I feel like it could be easy to do with enough time and money. I didn't watch all of BW but I did watch all of season 1 well into my 40s and I loved how small and quiet that season was.
Also, just because I don't follow BW figures as closely as G1, has anyone ever made a Beast Wars specific "Ghost of Starscream" type figure?

    Got both of mine yesterday.
Beautiful figures, I must say. Can't wait to get them on my shelf!

Takara dinobot is sick as hell as well, and I'd be impressed if a new rendition did better to hide the bot bits showing throw in alt mode, it just seems like a really difficult task to make both modes work, but thankfully the robot mode is super insanely good, and alt is still great for accuracy and poseability.
If your looking for MP, I agree with Delduwath, though I'd still recommend getting some of the original BW figures as there are some awesome ones there. Injector is pretty much perfect for everything it needs to do in both modes. Also the new legacy stuff like Tarantulas and Inferno.
Takara Blackarachnia is amazing in bot mode too, but alt mode is okay and the transformation is very clunky. But her bot mode is stunning and a must have imo.
Can't say for this Terrorsor till I get it in hand but the biggest drawback definitely looks like the tabbing and gappage here and there, and the rigidity of alt mode poseability.
I still want that transart rattrap but I am trying to keep the OG cast in their OG forms.
