Well its definitely a robot and an autobot! A friend of mine got pics the other day and there are autobot insignias in front of the rear tire on the lower skirt.

Actually, now that I'm at home, and can see the photo.... I'm thinking this is fake. There is a harsh "edge", circular in nature around the symbol. The shadows on the vehicle contours do not match behind the symbol. You may want to check yourself....

 

No, but I see what you mean, those tires aren't the Volts, but why would the Autobot insignia be so small?
I will give this Mercedes speculation one more month, then we'll truly see if it's a Transformer or not, I'm still need more time to believe this.

 

Of course it's a new character! It wouldn't make a lick of sense if Jolt went from a Chevrolet Volt to a Mercedes.

 

If it is a TF diffently a new character. I have a feeling its Tracks but for all the crazyiness in TF2 with the twins and etc. it could be erector for all I know.

I see what you mean about it looking a little fake. There's something strange about the black halo that's surrounding the actual symbol. If it's a bevel, it's way too thick, and if it's a shadow, why is it so big? It could be real, though.

In regards to the tires, I don't think any of the Autobots have stock tires and wheels.

 

Was there even a full-frame, unobstructed, in focus shot of the Volt in the movie? If not, who's gonna care?

I'm really thinking, during the production of ROTF, GM had Bay by the balls and basically told him, "We have this new eco-friendly, electric sedan that needs publicity. Make a badass robot out of the car, or we'll revoke our sponsorship." The problem is that the Volt is pretty much a Prius with a Chevy Bowtie, and no matter what color you slap on to a Prius, you can't make it look badass. So, as a result, Bay placed the Volt in the backgrounds of shots, out of focus.

Then, when GM had to be bailed out by the government, and was no longer in a position of sponsorship power, I think Bay was free to go and peruse the offerings of other, better car companies, like Mercedes and Ferrari. And the first thing he did was pick an alternate mode for Jolt that didn't suck.

 

Personally, I dislike the Mercedes a lot more than the Volt. I actually quite liked the Volt. It was a cool, futuristic looking car that was the perfect alternate mode for Jolt. Not only that, it was totally in-keeping with his whole "electric" character.

The thing that really threw me off was that black halo around it. It's kind of unexpected that they would plant the autobot logo onto a black circle, but design isn't meant to be predictable, I guess.

 

I know, right? Why does it work in the movies/tv and not in real life? I think that is one of my biggest pet peeves when a movie or show has surveillance footage all blurry from far away, but then some tenderwipe says "enhance" 4 times, and VWALLAH! We can now read the f-in' time off of someones analog watch.

Back to topic... I hope this isn't Jolt. Wouldn't make sense for the character unless it was an electric hybrid Benz....which it's not. I want Jolt back in the movie really really bad, but I would almost be okay if he wasn't
