    People,

Hope this is the right place for this.

Just want to make sure none of you are falling for this as the price is already nearing $200.00 for this KO Menasor.

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
I own all 3 sets.. here's some comparison between Japan, USA, and KO (I had written this up for a different thread so some of it may be out of context). In short, the purple of the box is the wrong color, no rub-signs, Breakdown windshield has full paint (authentic version doesn't have 'points' at the bottom edges like the KO does), Motormaster has black pin tips in the rear wheels. etc. Many other tells, of course.

This scum sold a KO Defensor last week for over $500 and a 'different' Menasor giftset for over $400. I reported to eBay, but doesn't look like they are doing anything about it.

Also, TFW has posted this auction in featured Giftsets. I sent a PM to Admins hoping to help out since featuring this may cause an unwitting member to get hoodwinked.

Be on your guard when buying ;)

It's interesting how different the box art is on the sides between the KO, USA, and Japan version. I figured the KO box would have been a direct scan of the USA version, but it's not. Appears they tried to pose the KO figures like the originals as closely as possible. Goes without saying that they didn't quite land it. Not a bad effort, though. Anyway, the USA version looks to be using early test shots. D-55 has figures that look pretty close to production.

KO box is to the right.

KO in the center. D-50 to the left.

KO at the bottom. D-50 in the middle. Most blaring differences are the color of the KOs trailer stickers and the pins used in the wheels. They have black tip tips (center of wheel).

KO on the left. Which is D-50 [IMG] The KO 'roller' has no detail on the sides of the car compared to the official releases which has 2 'creases.' KO is also slightly larger.

KO to the left. D-50 at center. Ko is missing 2 plastic protuberances near the trailer kick-stands. Also various molding details (circles) aren't stamped in the same locations.

KO on the left. D-50 at center. Impossible to tell from the photos, but all 3 of these figures face paint is a different shade. More stamping differences on the KO. Most obvious is the large 'circle' molding details.. they're about 1.5x - 2x the circumference of the official releases. Also note the lack of 3 notches at the bottom center of the black chest shield of the KO.

KO to the left. D-50 at center.

KO Stunticons to the front right (note how I incorrectly placed the rub-signs for all except Dragstrip. I did this on purpose, but it would just look dumb on Dragstrip due to the location of the rub-sign.) D-55 Stuntrons to the front left. Rear is full of 2 sets of Chinese KOs from some years past. Motormaster is the same, but the other teams in each set had their palettes swapped, basically. Wish I had bought the KO set Bradforj had for sale a some months back (Korean KO release that had the Black cab/white trailer Motormaster.)

Nice ID Guide! I also noticed that there are circles in the top left and top right corners of Motormaster's "head box" on the knockoff.

One thing that helps me out when I see these with stickers applied is the weird Decepticon sigil on Breakdown. It doesn't have a white boarder on the knockoff and just looks really off.

I have an ID guide here too:

(Gotta correct the part about the circles to the side of Motormaster's face...)

Thanks! This was geared more to show off a recent purchase (and that I'm a Motormaster/Menasor fan...), so I didn't go very in-depth about the KO. However, it came in very handy when I saw this person passing off Menasor as the real thing.

Yep, there are quite a number of differences between the KO and real thing. (and highendtfs is a great resource!) Another tip off is that that they couldn't quite mold Dead End's and Breakdown's Windshield properly. The Original has a slight curve (like a real car), these are basically flat. With the exception of Motormaster, none of the other Stunticons have copyrights on them.

FYI, on another auction is a custom G2 Menasor. Now the seller is not passing it off as authentic, but he did not mention that the custom was based on a KO. G2 STUNTICON MOTORMASTER... CUSTOM | eBay
