This is confusing, Megatronus isn't he The Fallen? Why was Orion Pax calling Megatron Megatronus? Orion Pax " Where are we Megatronus?"

Earlier in the episode it says that Megatron named himself after one of the Original 13, and apparently he used to use the full name "Megatronus". However sometime after Orion became Optimus Prime he dropped the "us" from the end of it. Which is why when Optimus came to he referred to him as Megatronus.

I know it supposedly doesn't tie in completely, but I use the Exodus novel here as a back story because I feel it fits nicely. Megatron was originally an unnamed Gladiator but developed a massive set of balls and decided to call himself Megatronus. During one of the bloody gladiator matches the crowd started to chant "Megatronus" but if you've ever been to a ball game you'll understand that when you chant something for a long time your speech is kind of slurred. "Megatronus" simply shortened the name to Megatron for ease of chanting.

Kind of a parallel to Beast Wars Megatron taking his name from the G1 Megatron.

But, yeah, the episode made it ridiculously clear where Megatron's name originated from.

In the Exodus book the scene with the name change is kinda epic. Though not really spoiling anything. A bunch of cybertronians are cheering "Megatronus" over and over and it and in his moment of pride he hears the shortened name "Megatron" start to flood over the crowd and eventually that's what they are all chanting. Kinda awesome if you ask me.

So wait the names end up like this?

    Megatronus (The Fallen) Prime
    v
    v
Megatronus (Adopts the name from the Covanant Of Primus and The Fallen (presumably))
    v
    v
    Megatron (Shortened by crowd chants)
    v
    v
Megatron (BW. Adopting his name from the original Megatron)

    I just Confused myself @_@

Prime and Beast Wars are completely unrelated continuities. Beast Wars is apart of the G1 universe, so he takes his name from the G1 Megatron.

Yes, but Megatronus (the Fallen) is one of the 13 original transformers, thus a multiversal singularity. So he also exists in G1, making it very possible Megatron got his name from Megatronus. At least, they could retcon it that way.

So yes, it's possible G1 Megatron also took his name from the Fallen and thus when BW Megatron took his name from the original G1 Megatron, he referenced the Fallen.

This is one of those things that actually annoys me about this whole multiversal singularity concept. It actually ruins one of the more brilliant and subtle touches in BW IMHO.

In Beast Wars, both Megatrons take their name from the section of the Covenant of Primus that fortells the Beast Wars. As such, the dragon named Megatron from the covenant was in fact BW Megatron. So, he has just as much (if not more so) of a claim of being the original Megatron as G1 Megatron.

Did Megatronous betray the Primes in this continuity? Even Unicron wondered what did a Prime want to do with him with Optimus asked for his ear.

The story even tells us that Unicron hadn’t been heard of since the 13 Primes defeated him until now. Megatronous, the original one, couldn’t have been a herald of Unicron. If he betrayed the Primes he did something else, no?

Did any notice that the council of elders had 10 Primes or statues of Primes illuminated below three members standing before Prime as equals? 13 figures. Was the council the original 13 or something else altogether?

Yes, Megatronus betrayed them, although not necessarily to Unicron. It was stated in "Exiles" that he murdered Solus Prime. And I'm pretty sure those are just statues--as someone else said, if the 13 Primes were still on Cybertron, then why would there be any leadership problems?

Probably for the very reason you just stated, assuming Megatronus killed a Prime. That doesn't sound too friendly of the ruling class, going after one another, and not watching what's going on in their backyard.
