Was anyone else really surprised that Megatron was killed by Bumblebee? I did not see that coming at all. I was glad however that he was killed by someone else other than Prime.

I liked it. It was a shift from the usual Optimus/Megatron battle to the death that usually happens. Of course I don't think anyone was quite as surprised as the old Slag Maker.

    You saw the movie right?

Otherwise I myself was surprised, but I found it refreshing at least to see it done by someone other than Prime.

I fully expected them to either go the "Megatron killed himself" route with the Dark Energon, or have Prime kill him, so Bumblebee doing it was a bit unexpected.

Bumblebee doing it was a terrible idea. He had done (relatively) nothing the entire series, and this wasn't a situation that was any more personal to him than any other Autobot present. It wasn't the natural completion of an arc. It was an out of nowhere turn that makes no sense from a storytelling standpoint, other than to get rid of his disability. That's the only thing about the events surrounding him in that episode that makes any sense with the rest of the series.

It'd be like if in Justice League, in the final moments of Green Lantern and Hawkman's fight, the Flash came in out of nowhere, died, was miraculously resurrected, and killed Hawkman. He didn't earn it. The story didn't call for it.

He also didn't earn that super melodramatic death scene. This wasn't G1 Bumblebee, he wasn't the glue keeping the team together. He was just... One of the good guys. With no characterization beyond that. He got no focus, and was never even hinted at being more than that. Other than some vague, "You've got potential." talk from Prime, of course.

If they were gonna have Smokescreen go through all that "chosen one" BS, then he should've done the deed.

    Bumblebee was just... Random.

I didn't feel he was random. Really the only 3 Autobots (other than Prime) who had one on one experiences with Megatron were Ratchet/Smokescreen(barely)/and Bumblebee. And out of those 3, Bee had the most during the show's run.

He lost his voice to Megatron, he and Megatron met personally in season 1 during a psychic patch and struck a deal, and Megatron took over his body for a few episodes. Not to mention Megatron almost succeeded in killing Raf right in front of him.

Whether or not the writers intended it this way, I don't know, but the fact that the voiceless, lowly scout (the only one who didn't have warrior status) was the one to fell Megatron was rather fitting. Smokescreen got his chance to be the chosen one and turned it down. He turned down his destiny. And from what was seen in PR, thank goodness he did, because as it turns out the Matrix didn't always choose the best person for the job.

It was stupid and surreptitiously. Like the Fraction he belongs to.

I was very surprised. Didn't expect that little yellow shit to do in Megs.

But in a way, it's quite beautiful. Of all the ways for Megatron, the oh-so powerful Lord of Decepticons and the greatest gladiator of Kaon, to die, it's not in an epic clash with his nemesis, not in grand defiance of the Chaos Bringer; he's back-stabbed (non-literally) by the same old little scout he'd always demeaned and derided as a bug, as a nuisance!

Sorry, big bad. No final showdown for you; have fun knowing the last thing you ever saw was the same little bot you couldn't even be bothered to kill all those years ago.

Well at least until Unicron stepped in but whatever.

I feel as if the entire scene would've made more sense if Bumblebee was replaced with Smokescreen.

I also agree with this. Smokescreen's character had gotten a more appropriate build up for him to have been in Bumblebee's place.

I would of liked if Megatron were to be killed by a Wrecker. But the way the show was going, having Optimus Prime hanging by the cliff and Megatron standing on top, I thought Starscream would of betrayed Megatron and shot him while his he is not looking

This. Prime wasn't like all of the other shows were only Optimus himself has any meaningdul interaction with Megatron from the Autobot's side. Bumblebee actually had an established plot line with Megatron.
