Question about the trailer why would Megatron side with the Humans or even the Autobots to fight Prime He hates Humans and even More Autobots.? He he only stepped in in DOTM Due to Sent Prime being his Master...
I agree it's not definitive that they team up, but in the shot where Megatron strikes the barren ground of a desert with his sword Lennox can be seen facing Megatron. That scene was filmed early in production in a playa in the Mojave Desert east of Los Angeles. During the filming Lennox was seen talking to an unseen Transformer. I think the reason people are thinking they team up is because Megatron would just strike down Lennox if he wanted to. I actually personally suspect that enemies will team up in this film.
That's the key phrase. Just because he doesn't kill him doesn't mean they are working together. Megatron doesn't kill Carly when he has the chance.
It's probably that Megatron hates Optimus so much that HE wants to be the one to destroy him. And since the Deceptions are declining in numbers (probably), he must be desperate.
I'm just admiring the fact of the evil Megatron hearing out whatever Lennox has to say without going "bwahaha die, human!" That's pretty freakin' cool.
lol I knew someone would bring that up. That situation was kind of different. In his mind at that point, he won so there was no need to kill her.
In the case of Carly, once her little ruse had hit home in Meg's damaged brain, he more than likely forgot all about her as all he could focus on was Sentinel. She's more lucky she didn't get accidently squashed as he stood up all in a huff, than purposely killed for her insolence. I would have killed her for her insolence. Here Lennox seems confident facing up to a renewed Megatron. He must have a good reason why Megatron would not just kill him there and then, indeed Megs seems to be demonstrating how easily he could. Either that or his sword was just a lot heavier than he thought.
And I would agree there's no way to definitely say that Lennox and Megatron are meeting to form an alliance. The only things than can definitely be said about it is a) they are in a desert and b) Megatron's sword strike on the ground is not intended to kill Lennox. It is likely it is important for Lennox to face someone as imposing as Megatron, but what that importance is has yet to be seen. It could be a strategic distraction on Megatron's part, an uneasy alliance, or something else entirely.
Whatever it is it looks important, and i'm glad Lennox is getting some important jobs. He's always the best human!
Funny enough there are actually at least several humans I like more, BUT I do like Lennox a lot in the first film, and I think bringing him as the guy who isn't too sure about TRF and questions who he is actually working for is probably the best way to bring him back. Plus, him meeting up with Megatron seems pretty cool. Whatever they are discussing, Megs sure wants Lennox to be intimidated; if it is an alliance it certainly isn't the friendliest one.
It did occur to me as i posted that Lennox and Epps are pretty much interchangeable too. They have very similar character and emotional range. Better together i say, i like soldiers that understand each other so well that they can operate in perfect unison!
From the looks of it Megatron knows that what's going on in the movie is going to affect both factions and even though he loathes siding with the ones that foiled his goals time and time again,he knows that having any ally is more important given the current situation. I take him swinging that sword at Lennox as a way to show that he's still going to make sure the Decepticons come out on top when their alliance is over.
