I don't get the lack of updates on MS-02 either. They clearly retooled him into the not-Blaster, which is supposed to release imminently. But are they still doing not-Soundwave? Has that been confirmed?

 

Ooh only just saw all them new pics, alt mode looks awesome. He seems really solidly made, a bit limited in articulation but still quite decent.

 

I think the only major thing he's lacking is a waist swivel. Over than that he looks to have a decent range of motion in every joint, wrist, bicep, and thigh swivels, ball jointed head, and of course ankle tilts.

 

Next year's release at the earliest.

The mold hasn't really aged well, but the United paint job is ace. This new tank Megs looks like a very good Classics substitute for sure. :3

I think Megastel can feel safe. The have a much more interesting design.

Pity about those skinny legs on the Hasbro. Maybe if it is big enough I could shoehorn it into a MP size with some custom work. The upper body and head aren't bad.

 

If this was Leader size I'd buy it in a second.

 

Oh man those generations megs'. God what is going on at Hasbro this year. 99% of their stuff looks so awful, no wonder they wanna ban 3ps at the con again. When even the newer 3p teams just getting in to the business make the official stuff look like a joke its kinda sad.

 

I'm not seeing much competition from Hasbro here. Hasbro is probably taller (possible too tall!), a bit cheaper, and has a Mini-Con port. That's about it. Everything else about Mega Steel is superior.

I'm not sure they were ever in competition.

Hasbro's is Leader Class (and doesn't even really fit with Classics), and the (superior) Megasteel one is large Voyager/small Ultra Class (and a great fit with the CHUG figs.

I'm not exactly sure who Hasbro was aiming for with this one. Nostalgic parents buying toys for their kids, I guess?

 

I believe Hasbro thought it was part of their Classic/Generations line.
