    Hey Guys,

For the past 2 years I have been working my way to becoming a professional toy inventor. I pitch to companies such as Hasbro, Spin Master, Mattel and a few others. I am looking for some inspiration for Transformers Concepts. I do have a few concepts on the go but I thought why not ask the people who love the IP as much as I do for some extra inspiration.

How about Transformers that Hasbro actually thinks girls will buy? I mean Monster High seems to have a pretty good following, why can't we have girls with robot pals? Other than the intensely annoying Miko?

Didn't Takara try that with "Kiss Players"?

This. My girls won't touch TF's because they are 'boys toys' but they are always pressed up against my detolfs looking at them.

    It's an untapped market.

    That's a good idea, actually.

Be great PR for Hasbro too, if handled right.

A gear system linked to wheels that do autotransforming.

A train combiner similar to the Metagross line in Pokemon (four guys, same design, different decos, can merge by twos or by fours)

I would LOVE to see hasbro team up with the armed forces and make transformers that turn into REAL military vehicles.

Honestly IDK what they were targeted for... pedophiles? Really, those comics and art bits on TFWiki are beyond disturbing!

FYI, *DO NOT* bring those up. AT ALL. *shudder*

While it would be interesting... I imagine they don't have such a line on account that the US would prefer all their vehicles to be Autobots... even if the Military Vehicles are more a Decepticon choice than for Autobots. Perhaps if they brought a Crossovers G.I. Joe line and consider the Cons/Cobra "stealing" designs to justify repaints of "Evil" military vehicles?

A GI Joe crossover line would be awesome, especially if they alt modes were scaled to fit actual 3 3/4" GI JOe figures - but even though they haven't done it, it seems like a no-brainer, considering they've already released both Star Wars and Marvel Transformers.

I'm sure it's been pitched before in-house, probably multiple times. I doubt he'd be bringing anything new to the table with that idea...

Not to be mean, but it sounds like you are outsourcing your interview? You're being upfront about it, at least. But what's the point if you are pitching other people's ideas?

I've got a bunch of ideas, but no offense, I'm not comfortable with sharing them for you to profit from professionally without any sort of credit or compensation.

That being said, I think you're being a class act in announcing that right up front, and wish you the very, VERY best of luck in your upcoming meeting. I'd love to see some of your ideas, once they're no longer bound by professional nondisclosure, or the ones that don't make the cut or what not.

Let me see what I can do to help though... hrm... Matell seems to be having great success with their line of branded (Batman, WWE, etc.) minigame figures that interact with ipads. Attacktix was something of a failure for Hasbro, but a system using a similar style of figure, but with electronic tie-ins to allow for both single-player and remote multiplayer, as well as tabletop play (either with or without "pad" enhancements and/or augmented reality) under a variety of game modes, could do very well using the stable of brands that Hasbro has access to. The simple fact that Hasbro is also able to tie-into Milton Bradley and Wizards of the Coast skillsets (and that they've managed to make enjoyable and easy-to-pick up games based off their brands, even if these have failed to be hugely successful as well), would make this an endeavor that Hasbro could really sink its teeth into and one-up their competition.

You are not being mean that is a fair question.

As an Inventor I look to everything for inspiration. I am not asking anyone to prepare a pitch for me, I am merely opening up the conversation for new ideas from the people who spend a lot of time interacting with the product.

You would be surprised at what can spark an idea. Ideas can start out as one thing and turn into something entirely different in the end.

Also some people have some really great ideas and no where to go with them. I know because I used to be one of them. I have spent a lot of time and energy working my way into the toy industry. So why let ideas go to waist.

like I said, please only share if you want to and you don't plan to do anything anyways.

That is cool I respect that, thank you.

That is one downside of being an inventor. You only get to share your work with a handful of inventor relations departments and not with the rest of the world. Hopefully one day I can show off some of my prototypes.

For girls to be interested in Transformers. Twilight/TF crossover. Vampire guy turns into that truck from that clip & he is totally made of sparkly plastic. Other robot turns into wolf beastformer.

Haha, Sadly I have thought about that before. I think it would be a cool Rescue Bots sub line. "Transfarmers" http://i.imgur.com/nxlo6.jpg
