There have been some Max Factory figures that were really great (Avengers Cap, Metroid Samus) and some that left me wondering, What the hell were you thinking (Avengers Hulk...namely, the hip joint design that resulted in the legs constantly sliding/falling off). Sculpt-wise, they've always been on point, and the quality has been good overall. But yeah, I would say that if anything, Mafex is the one with the reputation for poor quality control, and my experience bears that out. It's why I was surprised by the Robocop figure being as good as it was.

Interesting to know. All my Figmas have nearly perfect silky smooth joints. Granted, I don’t have too many figmas mainly because they don’t really specialize too much in characters I want. Mafex is a tossup with some figures being really good and some pretty bad and you never seem to know. But I can say the best Mafex figures I have are still not as good overall build wise as any average figma I own.

It's not that GSC/Figma has a bad rap, quite the opposite.
However, their scale doesn't generally mesh with other lines, and this was their first Robocop:

The overall look is good, but that face would have been just ok on a 3 3/4 figure from 20 years ago.
My concern is that the same company that made this are making a new one. I don't know that it'll be bad, but I don't know it'll be good either.
On the other hand, I KNOW the Mafex is good.

Edit: just want to make it clear that I'm not dragging Figma. I would put them on par with Figuarts any day. They are arguably the best at the incorporation of translucent elements, and figures like their Metroid, Legend of Zelda, and Guyver series are second to none.

I get ya. Yeah, I was very impressed with the Mafex Robocop. I just hope I don't regret selling it.

I do remember that the face was what everybody hated about the GSC Robo. I normally don't care about facial likeness or things like that too much, but even I was taken aback by how bad it was. Those Guyver figs...I loved the OVAs (discovered them in high school), and I totally missed the boat on the Figma versions. Hope they eventually rerelease them or release newer versions.

I had the old Max Factory versions, and while I liked the heft, quality was a bit subpar.

The height of both the Mafex and HW are 6.7", so scale is not an issue. I would miss the muzzle flash effect from the Mafex version, were I to swap to the HW. The Auto-9 is iconic and that effect part is so important as a visual indication that it fires in bursts.

I got him in too, he's pretty awesome. I'm thrilled that Mafex is turning out top quality figures with these last two releases.

I'm glad to see that the TDKR Batman turned out good, I think I'll have to pick him up now. Haha.

I wouldn't say he's my favourite either but he has a very distinctive style and DKR is a classic. What I really like about these comic book figures MAFEX are doing is they are interpretive adaptations of the source material into action figures, not literal facsimiles of one particular image. They're a lot more considerate of what makes a good action figure than may other recreations of two dimensional artwork or animation in three dimensional form.

And Peter B to November. Miles didn't get delayed at the same time though so maybe he'll finally release.

Yes, it looks like Miles is next. The most overdue figure is Bulls Jordan, who was originally scheduled for April along with Thor and Hush Batman. He's currently scheduled for October.

I almost bought the TDR Batman but the size...if he was in scale with ML or DCUC, I would have bought it.

Looks like Mera and Black Manta also pushed to December. I have Mera pre-ordered but also keeping my eyes on Black Manta.

They have 9 figures scheduled for December. It's meaningless and I don't think any of them will come out this year.

    Sep: Miles Morales
    Oct: Michael Jordan (Bulls)
    Oct: Gigantor
    Nov: Peter B Parker
    Nov: Iron Spider (Endgame)
    Nov: Chucky

Anybody think they can get those 6 figures out in the next 3.5 months? I don't. 5 of them are all new molds. 4 of them are tailored.
