when we say a certain release month for Mafex, is it the beginning or end of that month when they are supposed to hit? I can’t remember.

Based on my notifications from HLJ, it can be any time of the month.

Just got Huntress in, and I must admit to being stumped; what is that second, non-articulated display pole for? And why does it come with 2 claws and one half claw? It looks like the kind of stuff you would use to pose accessories along with the figure, but she doesn't have anything like that.

I've been going with Hobby Search but I'm now going with Hobby Genki, I've yet to receive anything from them as I've just done POs so far but their prices seem to be a little bit better.

hobby search usually has the largest amount of inventory compared to the other JP retailers, but they started charging tax to US and their DHL fees are higher than others. AmiAmi is usually 500 yen more, and they dont show you the shipping fees as you're checking out, but they seem to be cheaper than hobbysearch, also they havent carried reissues for international shipping. Hobbyplaza is nice. The previous two tend to sell out faster than hobbysearch. I dont like the websites for Nin-nin, genki, etc. The listings arent very organized, and mix sold out items with in stock, as well as mixing resale prices into the retail inventory.

Woot woot! Managed to find a decently priced Huntress this morning, should hopefully have her in hand Sunday.

storm actually doesn’t look as good as I’d hoped. I might be in the minority, but while the likenesses and costumes are generally good, I don’t love the paint choices…like Wolverine having metallic blue or cyclops’s blue or storm being pearlescent with gold rather than yellow. I’m pretty much rooted in XTAS as far as X-men go and the little deviations like that stray just enough to annoy me. I know that’s not what they’re going for, but it is so close that the little things like that are frustrating.

I would honestly be shocked if there was no thigh swivel on Storm. Cycke and Wolverine look fantastic. I love the molded lines of the fabric on Wolverine, like the way it's bunching up on the chest. That will make action poses look that much more dynamic.

Opened up Huntress last night and aside from an issue with the right gripping hand popping off if I breath on it too hard, everything is perfect. Mafex did a great job on the sculpt work, and the paint apps are pretty damn clean. She's a bit light on accessories, but I'm very satisfied with her. I like that they added a wire to the bottom of her cape as well as the along the sides.

I'm actually glad Storm is pearlescent. I was worried she would be too plain, being all white, or end up looking too much like the ML cel shaded version. But I agree with Wolverine's metallic blue being weird! I keep hoping they'll make a more traditional repaint with black stripes.

Boo, but I lived through the Mezco 89 Batman delays, so I can wait another month.

I already have both Wolverines, but if they did a V2 of the tigerstripe Wolvie with the black stripes and claws from the brown version it'd be hard to resist.

There's a custom available for that second one, if you're nuts like me.
