I only like Sideswipe's, Bumblebee's, and Optimus Prime's guns. The others look silly.

    This I totally agree with.

I'm having problems keeping the Mech-Tech weapons stay as weapons. I try to get them to become weapons, but they don't stay as weapons; in other words, the weapons just fold back into being non-weapons. Like Megatron's fusion cannon... I try to keep it as a fusion cannon, but it keeps folding back into that fuel tanker thing.

So yeah... could have had a better execution.

I like the fact that everyone comes with weapons, except for the fact it takes away money that could'of gone to the figure itself.

Its good but not the greatest idea in recent years. The clip system takes that one.

Would vote if there was an option for "Worst gimmick ever that completely killed the DOTM line". I can't vote that I don't care because I do - I wanted to collect some of the DOTM Autobots, but that space filling size shrinking Mech Tech shit that called for random holes in all the figures destroyed all my interest.

Ok...I posted this somewhere else, but that one bugged me to cuz I really liked those weapons. When I took the springs out they were all floppy.

    FIX IT

Find something about the size of the rivits/pins on the hinge parts of the chain saws. Tap them in a bit tighter.

Now they stay closed and open, and do not go limp when hes holding it.

they're ok. they're a good idea just poorly executed and they take too much away from the figure.
Clip weapons are the best and they're a lot more subtle on the figure too.

Nope. Rubsign = best idea ever.
I do thoroughly enjoy the mechtech weapons that come with the voyagers (mostly Shockwave & Megatron be that the aesthetic works well for both of them in bot & alt modes. OP, Skyhammer, & Ironhide's are decent) but other than that I just like using them for making BFGs.

Well, Shockwave (and megatron, in vehicle mode at least) are special cases because theirs are so integrated into the figure, that they don't even work very well on other figures. I love Shocky's particle blaster in particular.

There are more bad Mechtech than there is good. I don't really care for them. Ultimately, for me they're too big and too goofy. They're just like the oversized missile launchers that were pure shit in the Rise of Cobra toy line. If they were better scale and were more like the spring loaded weapon from the WFC Optimus, then I wouldn't mind Mechtech...but as it is, the gimmick is pretty poor.

Hasbro: "Hey kids! Rub Optimus Prime's emblem to see if he's an Autobot, or a Decepticon!"

Kids: "But we already know he's--"

    Hasbro: "JUST F*CKING DO IT!"

    Just sayin'...

I haven't bought a single MechTech toy. I am just not big on the whole gimmick, and I am saving my money for Cyberverse figures.

Yes, exactly. It's a very good way to teach kids the fundamentals of learning how to do what they're told, you know without hitting them. I don't see a problem there.

^Sorry, but the rubsign idea is just stupid since we already know who is an Autobot and who's a 'Con.

Too much? Almost nothing. They make them maybe a centimeter shorter, which honeslty the way TF lines have been progressively shriking, then enlarging, then shrinking is barely even a problem. They don't impact the complexity or sculpt at all.
