Got my new version in yesterday, had a chance to piddle with him this morning...






Other than the Cab color, there's not really anything else different about this at all... at least not that I can spot. Includes the same Weapon and the same alternate head. Maybe, maybe, the color of the Purple plastic is slightly, almost imperceptibly different? But I could also be imagining that.

EDIT: Also, the screws on the Wings at the back are Silver in the new version [Black on the original release].

So similar IMHO that it's not worth buying unless you want a second copy to fiddle with [as is the case with myself] or just really, really want the Blue cab.

 

THANK YOU for positing these pics and feedback!!! My retailer unsuddenly doesn't want to send me pics and is still trying to convince me both MS27 and MS27A are the same. Clearly, even if its truly just the cab color, are not the same at all.

 

Are the silver pins that hold his wings on easier to move or more secure than the black screws? The one nice thing about the black screws is that I was able to loosen one of them that came too tight.

 

Well, the new version looks pretty awesome. Can't wait to get mine.

I've got the same issue where ShowZ sent me MS27. Can you tell me, did the box for this guy say MS-27 or MS-27a? Mine says 27, and looks identical to the ms27 I just sold. I'd prefer to not open it as I could just flip this one, and recoup most of the money as opposed to losing all the money in shipping it back to China.

 

Look on the bottom of the box - there should be a little box checked off with an 'X' showing that it is the 27B version. otherwise, the box is identical.

 

The check boxes say: "Animation" or "G Toys" and the G toys is checked. Which is that?

 

I believe 'Animation' was the original release and 'G Toys' is the new release, but I threw away the boxes so I can't be 100% sure!

Either way, I can definitely confirm that the NEW version came in the same box as the old one - there is no reference to 27B anywhere on the box.

I was confused at first too, thinking "Oh man, did ShowZ accidentally ship me the old one?", but when I opened it, it was the new one [at which point I noted the marking on the bottom of the box].

I as well can confirm on the same box being used for both colors. You have to open up the box to see what color you got. MFT decided to recycle boxes, which isn't good once these are circling around for awhile. I got mine from another seller.

Initially and how I read the messages from my seller, I thought there wasn't another version at all but they were talking about the box, not the figure.

 

I'm behind the curve, but picked up MS-27 from ShowZ as part of another order. I didn't know there was two versions, but I can confirm the ShowZ advert shows the black cab, and what arrived was the blue cab.

The package has 2 check boxes available, Animation and G TOYS, with a marker pen checking the G TOYS box.

Was there ever any sticker sets actually made available for this figure?
