It'll be interesting to see how his alt modes size in comparison to what else is available.

The jet mode is the weakest mode with the wheels sticking out everywhere, but it still looks pretty sweet. And considering how hard it is to do triple changers well in general, being this good at legends scale is amazing.

Ah but those aren't wheels, they are propellers. Hovercraft style propellers.

The name is kinda lame and it made me laugh, but he looks good. Killer Fog or anything else I guess. Fog is not that scary. So is this Magic Square with another name?

No. Mechanic Studio is a designer who does some designs for MFT.

My first thought seeing the product number (MS-27) was Magic Square, I thought it odd making this announcement (I'm expecting 1984 Autobots next from them) before I paid more attention to the full thread title.

Nice to see Octane. A little disappointed that his arms aren't visible in truck mode, because I always felt that was a cool look. But he looks great all the same.
Not for me anyway, because I only buy redecoes in legends scale and I can't think of any obvious redeco they would do for him.
But I wish in general there were more redeco options for Decepticons. Would love me some made-up Diaclone or SG decoes for the Headmasters.

Its a good well-rounded representation. Bot mode is the strongest which I like, but the alt modes have believable compromises for a triple changer too imo.

    Blitzwing next!

    Yes to all.
MFT is killing it, great designs and headsculpts.
Going for characters that others do not do while MST and NA are busy with repaints.
So glad I went for MFT with my collection.

How big are MT figures usually? I hope this is standard legends scale, not one of those weird oversized ones.

Usually they are Legends+. Pics below of the just released Astrotrain (from MFT, under the Mechanic Studio line as well), I think it's fair to assume this Octane will be around the same height.

I think the beauty of triple changers like this is that there is a little wiggle room if they seem on the tall-ish side. The problem would be if they were too short.

Yeah, Mechanic Studio said they're "coming soon". In July of last year we saw the same prototype pictures of MFT's Astrotrain that we're just now seeing of their Octane. Astrotrain just started shipping in the past two weeks, so it'll probably be a while before we see Blitzwing.

As far as I can tell, Mechanic Studio is one guy, Mike Nika. The dude is cranking out MFT's original TF figures, their TF animated movie figures, as well as their "2039" Diaclone compatible space exploration line, their Pride of China transformers, the Stellar Knights mech figures, and designs for a couple other toylines outside of MFT.

Granted I'm not doing stuff as near as complex, but it's taken me at least a month each on my last two TF designs. This stuff takes time.
