You guys missed a great convention!

The reason I know you weren't there is because my brother and I were two of maybe 20 transfans total at the convention. In spite of this, we had a great time!

Between the House Party, the Cosplay competition, Karoake Idol, the Transformers video room, the world premiere of TF:TM-Reconstructed, meeting the voice actor for Tarantulas, and playing every Transformers console game to date, there was always something to do.

My brother and I cosplayed as Spike and Sparkplug Witwicky, and even performed a humorous skit on stage. The sad thing is, more people thought we were Bob the Builder than the Witwickys (In spite of the yellow hard hat and boots, and our character names written on the side of hats, and the embroidered "Witwicky" above the pockets of the the work shirts.

I can honestly say I had more fun at this convention than any Botcon, and spent a lot less money.

The only thing that could have made this convention better is if there had been Transformers in the dealer room. That, and the fact that our flights out of New Orleans had been cancelled because of Hurricane Katrina.

Overall: 7 out of 10.

Unfortunately, we didn't get much of a response from Transformers dealers interested in joining us... and believe me, I think we sent e-mails to ALL of them.

One TF dealer we were supposed to have had car trouble on his way to the con and ended up not being able to join us after all. Hopefully MechaCon 2.0 will see more TF dealers taking an active interest in our show.  

We plan on making our 2006 event bigger and better, so hopefully we'll get that '7 out of 10' up to a '10 out of 10'!  

So, any plans on joining us again in 2006? Hopefully we'll be hurricane-free for MechaCon 2.0!
