Despite the arrival of Hurricane Katrina at our doorstep, MechaCon turned out to be a success with more than 750 attendees. Those who were able to join us really enjoyed themselves, and Transformers fans were no exception!

With MechaCon being a 3-pronged event that combines Anime, Transformers and Japanese culture... we were successfully able to live-up to our declaration of "Bringing Transformers Home to Anime!"

Aside from spending a great weekend with charming Beast Wars voice actor, Alec Willows, Transformers fans were treated to the world premiere of Transformers: The Movie - Reconstructed as well as the world premiere of the first three episodes of the officially subtitled Transformers: Headmasters, thanks to our good friends at Metrodome and TV-Loonland. We also had a video room dedicated to episodes of Transformers: G1 and Beast Wars. Our video gaming room also offered Transformers fans a choice of every Transformers console game to date, including the Japanese-only release of Transformers: Tatakai. Showings of Prime Passion and My Little Transformer were also received with laughter and applause.

While we had a full dealer room, we'd hoped to have more Transformers-specific dealers, as did many of our attendees. We sincerely hope that more Transformers dealers will consider MechaCon in their future convention arrangements. If interested, please contact us at [email protected] for a Dealers' Information Packet.

2005 was a great event and we're looking at 2006 being even bigger and better! Hope to see you there!
