I believe you, but honestly....none of that has happened to mine. Transformed mine several times. No issues.

I'd like to know as well. I got four parts, two are missile pods and two are different...brackets I guess? One of the brackets can be used to mount one of the pods on the wing, but the other seems pointless. Gun mount maybe?

Yeah, the two do look like missile pods... but where do they go?

Under the wings is the obvious choice, but there's only one mount for the two pods. I'll probably just chuck them anyway.

I spent the evening working on this guy, I cut the "ring" out of the hands so they look like actual hands (still holds the gun fine), and I removed the pointless extra part on his right hand, jet holds fine without it. Also took the arms apart and shaved down that transforming joint by his elbows so I could actually unclip the damn things. Pics later.

Seriously, there is so much over-engineering on this thing, lots of unneeded plastic that just gets in the way. Those weird prongs that stick out of his hips are next to go, they do nothing but slide over a couple nubs in robot mode. The pegs on his hips are the same. They don't actually hold anything, they just interfere.

That face is going to get cut out and replaced. I'm taking this guy as an opportunity to practice face modeling/printing. It's...not going well.

Oddly, I really like this guy, and feel compelled to fix all his issues. Once fixed this guy is going on my MP shelf, naysayers and scale be damned.

YOU HEARD ME. But not with his head as-is, hell no.

And there he will sit, until something better comes out that I decide to blow the money on.

    Soon on my shapeways:

Another forum member has the earlier prototype of this head of at the moment. I'll be sending him new ball socket adapters for a better fit.
My thigh fillers were however, an instant success. A few more adjustments to this face and I'll be test printing it.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of that head. It looks too human/organic/curvy for my tastes. The leg fillers are a good idea, but I'll be modeling my own.

I'm going to cut the face out of the original helmet and keep the helmet but replace the face.

They look good, but with my own printer, I can't bring myself to buy shapeways stuff. Surely you understand.

I said ALMOST passable. You have to admit they're better than they were.

    Got him today

Plastic is ok but not great. Similar to the IT Alicon is the best comparison I can think of. It's stiff with a slight give to it. I worry a bit about the thinner pieces.

Scales well for my semi chug/semi mp collection.

Tolerances are questionable for the head while transforming.

The face and hands suck as do the hollow inner thighs. Hopefully I'll be fixing that with some shapeways stuff.

Jet mode is awesome and probably the high point. The transformation is interesting as well. Good use of panels. The shoulder rod is a bit strange but it makes sense for the transformation.

If I had bought this for retail price I'd be pissed, but for 40 shipped its worth it.

I'm getting the fillers, but was waiting on the adaptor to grab a new head. Does the new head with adaptor have any clearance issues during transformation?

I sent the very first painted head to another forum member and he tested an adapter update 2 weeks ago ; the fit was a bit too loose. I just finished up a batch of adapter designs in slightly varying tolerances, so I will be sending
those to him for further testing or I will test them myself. The adapter as it is online for sale now, is an improvement upon the test adapter 2 weeks ago, but this new batch should yield a final version. I'd say ...2 weeks from now we'll know for sure. The Head 02 employs the exact same octagonal cavity for the adapter, so the final adapter version will fit the new head as well.

Oh btw.... in your photo, I think you have the arms mistransformed ; the red pieces should be at the underside of the forearms - you can get them to that position, by rotating them forward...and then you can rotate the entire wrist assembly 180 degrees around. Should result in arms like this:

In my video you can see how the arms panels swivel at the 3:25 minute mark:

Thanks! I saw your video after I took the pic. I was trying to transform without instructions but there were a few questionable moments so I just checked the video after I got a bit more than halfway. I agree though, with a couple of modifications it will be a pretty good figure and it will fit my collection at a better size than Phoenix at about a third of the price after the extra parts. More to save toward terminus!

I still always see Don Moffat, the guy who played "Garry" in The Thing or the President in Clear and Present Danger when I see the original face sculpt.
