Maybe they'll oversize them...
I'm not sure that is true. Mechideas needed someone to distribute their animated line and MMC's site carried them. That doesn't mean they are a sub company.
From what has been said around here, MMC was helping them out...
However, I think those Animated figures took them down and out. Too bad. I'd have loved to see more figures in the Demolition Crue series.
Separate group but they had some people in common, from what I've read at least.
I would LOVE to get a set of these guys though. Maybe a slight remould to give them thigh swivels? Whatever, still want them but not at current after market prices (like, a $100 per figure?!? Nope).
The Animated two-pack is still on BBTS at a discount. If it's true that MMC was aiding them in distribution, too bad MMC doesn't just do a limited run and then retire the molds.
These guys are going for $100 a figure? I don't think I paid that for both of them a few years ago.
And I haven't seen them for a decent price in the Junkion section either...or on eBay. These things went up in value.
This thread made me grab them and play with them for the first time in forever.
Well, I may have them lined up from a fellow board member. Still, for those unable to get them, a second run would be nice. It's weird how they basically doubled in value in after markets.
People want what they can't have.
They were like 75usd for the set when they came out, and the company who made them have gone out of business.
I don't think they will ever drop in price and I doubt we will ever see another "official" rub
Did Mech Ideas actually "go out of business"?
I was under the impression that they were just a side-project made by some people who were already working for other 3P companies (I think some people from MMC were involved IIRC).
It is a shame that they never followed up though...
That and the fact they were really nice figures.
If they were shit figs, the scarcity would have little impact but for completists.
Glad I picked up a set back in their day.
Yes they are a great set to have, I was glad I got them when they first came out. One of my best purchases.
I managed to pick them up loose from a second-hand shop for $30 CAD apiece. However, there's a problem.
The Hip joints on both of them (the friction joints, not the pinned ones) are really loose, and I can't figure out how to remove the mushroom pegs to tighten them. There are a couple of nubs that hold each one in, and I'm worried about breaking the pegs. Does anyone have any suggestions?
On one of the latest "Transmissions" podcasts, they revealed that their Hasbro insider leaked that a Top Spin figure is in development. So official ones are no longer so unlikely.
yeah hasbro made.....meh
I've got a bonus Geminus head available if anybody is interested
Was it a CW Top Spin, or a MP Top Spin? I doubt we'll ever see an MP one, but I would be pretty happy if they made it. Though that would then make me mad we still haven't gotten an MP Jazz!
