Also I never really considered repaints to be particularly innovative. Painting a character a different color and calling it another character is the height of laziness IMO.

 

The only repaint I can imagine (and one I would consider) would be something like the Fans Project X-Code Virus black repaint.

There's always that fear that a company will decide to get uber lazy and just repaint a guy over and over again and call it something different, though. My wife still has no idea why I have so many "Starscreams".

 

I'd buy a pink "Arcee" repaint of Chivalrouser. Nothing wrong with repaints, companies have been doing them forever. I don't usually buy them but I get why people like them and it's not like it's some weird new concept.

Psst. So is their Chromedome. It was originally Unique Toys Palm Collection Tom/Jerry.

However, as with their Diaclone KOs there are tons of newly sculpted details, and accessories. The Diaclone line though, seemingly has unending military color variations for each mech suit release.

 

OK lets have a think for a moment about possible Headmaster repaints and the why and wherefor of them.

Mindwipe can be redone in Black as Onyx Primal or in Red or light blue as either version of Convo'-Bat
Hardhead could be done as Quake or Bludgeon
Chromedome's FP Virus colour match the whole Black and red repaint thing to a tee.
Weirdwolf could be done in Galaxy Force Dark Fang Wolf colours or Cybertron Snarl colours

There is a rumour they are doing a Black Ultra Magnus 2.0 so more Black ones fit their other themes very well.

 

I don't see them wasting resources on any of those. That's really more of a Hasbro mind set. Takara doesn't even release those types of repaints.

 

i would probably buy a blacked out version.

 

Just got this guy along with Kup, Grapple(best little fig i own btw), and Goldbug. Chromedome does seem a smidge big, but a great figure none the less! Well worth it tho

 

As someone mentioned in the fanshobby Minerva thread, G1 chromedome is stupid huge in the cartoon anyways, so this guy probably scales just right.

 

Yea, i watched the 1st few Headmaster Episodes and they were pretty large bots. Everyone was much larger it seemed Movie and beyond. The size doesnt bother me, he matches up with Weirdwolf so it works out lol

REALLY hope MFT does Apeface and Snapdragon!

 

Well they already have 5 E-Box repaints, 4 slated repaints for Blaster, and 4 for Ultra Magnus (including a black one) and they have a whole host of existing products both Transformers related and Diaclone related in Black. & Hound already has 3 repaints out with a 4th due eventually too & Their sister brand is likely to repaint Tracks too perhaps twice.

So Code Virus seem right up their ally. Oh and I thought of another one since then - the Sonic Bomber repaint of Brainstorm FP did too if they ever do Brainstorm.

As I usuallly mention i'd not say no to Deepcover and Clamp Down either - especially if they come with Police Themed mini-mech suits.

This has certainly become a popular thread these past few days.  

That being said, I still love my Chromedome, and really wish that MFT would get their asses in gear and start releasing the other Headmasters.

Yes it is, and it is an awesome figure. Comes with quite a few accessories too. Transformation is fun

 

Mine arrived today from HZ401 on ebay. He looks awesome! I can't wait for the rest to come out!
