So I'm confused looking around for this:
    NB01 - Overlord

Did they already release it once? Did a few just slip out and the rest are re-branded with the new LD-01?

Also, I wonder why MFT and other similarly scaled manufacturers haven't done the Targetmasters?

Because they're not popular enough and can't be re-used?

The Targetmasters did have slightly different designs in Japan to the west on the shows and they did reusue some of their models as Generics on later TV shows such as TF Armada. But you are getting into some crazy obscure places then.

    Teaspoon-02.jpg

I think here is an idea for them "Teaspoon"
Basically anyone you like in Kup's colours like say Springer, from when Kup told the Quintessons that he wasn't the Autobot's head of Security he was "Teaspoon" their head Dishwasher. I suppose another way to handle that is to do a take on the what colour Kup actually is. and make a shades of grey or greenish one and call it "Teaspoon".

Either way I think there is some merit in Kup or Spinger repaints.

I do wonder if they still plan to make that Red or Orange Hound too as Alternators Rollbar at some point.

So, have MFT just called it quits on Transformers? I'd like to at least get OSKOs of MS Optimus, Megatron and Soundwave, since the MS Seekers, Coneheads and Constructions are good enough for a Legends+ collection. Has anybody heard anything from them?

I asked them last week if they were done and they said no. I would expect more from them, eventually.

    I am waiting on Elita-1

Awesome! Did they hint at what they're planning or is it all under wraps still?

This is the extent of the exchange, in the private chat for MFT fans:
    Screenshot_20230115-182714_Chrome_1.jpg

In more recent comments they mention that things have slowed down due to the explosion of covid in China, over the past few months. Their county has really been suffering because their vaccine options were not as good as other places, and a lot of their population was not vaccinated. This really hit manufacturing areas hard, and they have just started bouncing back in the past month.

When that happens, things slow down. Especially in shared manufacturing facilities because then the jobs for different companies get backed up. NewAge, in comparison, has been able to produce stuff steadily because they have their own manufacturing setup.

I have not seen activity from Mechanic Studios designer in recent months, and have had messages go unanswered by them when they have been very responsive in the past. I hope they're OK. I really admire their designer's work.

I figured as much. I also thought that price increases in oil had set them back in some way, but apparently that's not the case. I hope they recover soon. And yes, it's pretty impressive how Mechanic Toys have designed four well-executed triple changers at such a small size.

MFT should be eternal at this point. i know they have slowed on their main biz. but they are still cranking out all the dr wu shit. so at least the infrastructure is still rolling strong.

I second that! They already have the mold, just need a couple of new heads! Heck, I'd happily buy a Junkion 3-pack, with 3 unique decos and head sculpts, for $80.

I'd also love to see a CY-KILL version out of this mold - they wouldn't be the first to do it, but they'd be the first in Legends scale.

So that white Blaster repaint isn’t going to ever happen is it? I thought someone from showz said it wasn’t, but I’ve held out hope since every other shop still seems to have it available for preorder.
Oh well, I’ll just wait for Newage to do Blaster(please please please!!!)

If this is true, I wonder if they have split along Tf vs. Diaclone Reboot KO'ing? IIRC I thought Magic Square had already spun out of them? Were MFT co-producing the Dr.Wu Micromaster scale G1 TFs? Could that be them up the swannee?

The KO Legends scene has gone all over the place since MFT went quiet so I wouldn't be surprised if the former MFT members are off doing separate things now.

I don't believe Magic Square was ever affiliated with MFT but Mechanic Studios (also abbreviated with MS) was a separate designer whose work (triple changers, Tracks, Hot Rod, etc) was primarily released by MFT but had recently been working with Dr. Wu (Arcee, Sandstorm).

I think the Dr. Wu micromaster line was being manufactured by MFT but can't confirm 100% on that note. Regardless, there was definitely a connection between Dr. Wu and MFT but only as a partnership.
