im glad i held off on PT hot rod this bot looks fantastic. i am really excited about the pivot that MFT has made.

i have really high hopes for their astrotrain now. after seeing this i am fairly confident they will be scaling down their old one....woot

You know, every now and then I see one of these Legends scale announcements, and I find myself genuinely regretting the decision to go with an MP scale collection.
The stuff these companies are producing, at a much lower price and in a more compact format, is amazing.
This truly is gorgeous.

 

I kind of did... until I realized that I'm almost done with my MP collection, and I can have both. Then I started buying Magic Square's stuff.

This looks cool, too, though. Better than MP-28, and perhaps even Hoodlum, with the added space Winnebago mode. I'll probably bite.

Hmm. Just guessing, but looking at the pictures, it looks like it achieves the Rodimus Prime truck mode like MP-09 does. As in, the majority of the truck canopy is a faux part integral to the trailer itself, and Hot Rod himself kind of transforms into a sled with wheels and most of him gets covered up by the faux part.

 

Looks great! About time. It's been so long since papa stole their design I was wondering if they were ever gonna do this.

 

You know, I love the Papa Toys Rodimus. He's fantastic. The poseability is great. But this...this looks to put it to shame.

 

No regrets picking up PPT's Hot Rod. It was and is an enjoyable figure.

I’m afraid that ship has sailed.
I’m already committed to both alt and bot modes for MP. Triple changers bump that up to three figures for some characters (13 for Devastator  )
By the time I’m done I’ll have a stupidly large and complicated collection. I just don’t have the room, budget or for that matter, the patience, to do it again at Legends Scale.
The irony is that my collection would be a hell of a lot more manageable in Legends, but I’m in way too deep to turn back now.
But I do enjoy looking at these guy’s.
And I kind of agree with an earlier poster, this things looking as good as or better than MP-28 or Hoodlum.

 

Damn this is really nice. Mech fans toys usually do great figures and this has to be one of the best I’ve seen. Shame I won’t get it though.

 

Yep, definitely getting this. Good thing I dislike spending money on TF's these days, or else I'd already have gotten the PT version, although that one is pretty darn good as well.

I do think I would've preferred a seperate mould for the two characters. Also would've preferred the robot really forming the front of the Rodimus truck, instead of the MP09 cheat: I'd rather have an inaccurate front (the Hot Rod car) than a fake front, but this is possibly still doable (by removing the fake truck front).

 

I just got MFT's Skyshadow. The plastic they used feels much more robust than their usual offerings. Hopefully they'll use the this newer plastic on Rodimus as well.

 

Wow, I'm over really overwhelmed by the pic that displays before my eyes! This is the epitome of how Rodimus/Hot Rod should be released and accessories he should come with.......
Let me get this straight:
-He can be Hot Rod in alt mode
-He can be Rodimus in alt mode
-He's a Mini-MP9, I'm a huge fan of MP9 dual mode by the way
-He comes with Targetmaster
-Rifle can be split into Hot Rod or Rodimus gun like MP9
-Matrix chest & Matrix
-Battle Station trailer
-Spinning Blade

Conclusion:
Flame Commander must be purchased, no matter the cost!
Mech Soul/Mech Fan, another standing ovation. He'll be great standing next to MF UM 2.0.

Goddamn...that certainly is a beautiful Rodimus Prime. So much stuff that he comes with, and even a Targetmaster (with individual bending legs to boot) for good measure.
