I wanna buy it, but Gears just looks too much like his G1 toy for me to pull the trigger!

Heads both look like a squashed half-circle embedded into the belly of the truck to me.

One last thought if I may, IMO painting the face silver and the chest grill gold (well, metallic yellow) are really necessary, it's a great grumpy facesculpt but in flat white he looks a bit flat and 'cheap. Seems daft they didn't at least silver the face as they have a strip of it at the waist! I wonder if this means there might be a "toy" style repaint in the same way they did 'Toon versions of the Dinos?

@nacho & @Scourgatron - Ya know, I went back to see what my BC Gears looks like and you're right. He does have that stupid bucket head. My bad.

I think I've been turned off by SOME of MFT's releases where some of their figures are comically over-sized and just don't seem to fit with anything. Their Huffer I find to be ugly AF and in a wierd scale with any of the other MFT figures, or IF, or DX9 or MS. Just not sure about this Gears either - but for sub $15... maybe it's worth it to get it a try.

I'm glad they didn't, I'm not a fan of the (IMO) not very alt alt modes.

the alt is something that could easily be fixed. they are basically just backpacks if i remember.

but these look much better than the MFT's rocky dennis gears and friend.

    Much appreciated!

Yeah, I've seen a lot of love for that MT Gears figure, but I never liked the look of it, myself.

i must admit, i do kinda wish they had kept the original face for gears. i get that its toon accurate, but the cartoon was a super cheaply made advert from over 30 years ago, and a little variation from it wouldve done wonders. im still prob going to buy him though :)

Yeah, If they'd made his faceplate detachable with a toy "mask" face to swap out with that would have been awesome but they've really caught the 'Toon face in a suitably grumpy glory!

Mine came today (ordered from GiftLove Store on AliExpress on June 1).

Here's how they compare to their teammates in my collection:

They look pretty good, I'm sold now.

Also, I really wish that this picture could be pinned somehow for every time someone new to the Legends collecting scene chimes in to say how MFT's Pipes, Huffer, Gears, and Swerve don't scale at all with the other 3P Legends/Legends+. Right, they don't, because they scale with Hasbro Legends, not meant for the typical 3P Legends collection.
