Intersting indeed. I'm glad I waited.
Is New Age doing a set, also?

December 2024… really??? it's like 3 years too late for me having bought the toon boxset.

the bots are a bit dated now, but the metallic still looks really good in dino modes. NA missed the boat on that for me, and i really doubt MS will hit that mark either. so dunno… perhaps i'll try selling my mint toon set if/when this metallic boxset is released. wait and see how i feel then when they get this out to the market with final pricing.

maybe they are trying to get one last big push before they switch over to the new metallic ko's of the MS bots whenever that set is finished. hell they might even fix that tooth on grimlock. we all know MFT loves to make tiny tweaks.

i doubt it… besides their constant re-issues/repaints the past few years, MFT pretty much appears to be dead with respect to releasing new/improved KOs. :p

i don't know man i believe it is coming down the pipe line for sure. MFT has splintered into other companies now and both of those factions have dropped nice releases.

i think they will be coming out eventually. if it isn't MFT direct it will be one of their splinter companies.

I’m ready to donate my MFT and DX9 dinos to goodwill or just trash em. Not sure if they’re worth hassle of selling now that there are the NA ones and MS on the horizon.

I feel like I'm probably the only person who prefers the MFT Dinobots. I just like the simpler transformation compared to what New Age and Magic Square usually do. I know they aren't as posable, but I feel like they are fun figures to mess around with.

But that said, I'm happy with my Toon colored boxset, so don't need the Metallic set.

you aren't the only one. those are my preferred dinos and what i have on display in my collection. maybe one day i will swap them out but for now i don't see anything that is moving me to do that.

They wouldn't be my selection visually, but I love the engineering DX9 designed (and MFT KO'd). It is the same Dinobots we are familiar with in both modes, but the way in between is significantly different than anyone else.

That’s kinda surprising to me, I always felt that some of the MFT/DX9 were pitas to transform, and actually strongly prefer transforming NA’s offerings, find them to be much more enjoyable. We’ll see about the MS ones…

Take the date with a grain of salt also. I ordered the Headmaster set, which was supposed to come out Dec 2023. Then it moved to late January. Had ShowZ contact them last week and now they have no estimated release time.
Not to say that this set will follow suit, just don't take the release date as gospel.

Love my MFT dinos! I know Toyhax made decal sheets for the original DX9 figures, but has anyone come across sheets for the MFTs?

Maybe it's just an issue with certain molds for whatever reason? I remember at the same time as the Headmasters reissue, ShowZ also listed a reissue of the matte MFT Dinobots, and those came out in short order, so I don't see why these guys would be different from them (unless it was actually just a warehouse find). It does make me really impatient for the Headmasters reissue to finally get out there, though.

it has more to do with interest. there might not be enough buyers to warrant another run. that's kind of what happened to the christmas edition of these that got scraped.

Well, here's hoping the Headmasters haven't been scrapped, getting them on the aftermarket is significantly more expensive than the reissue would be.
