Wooo got my toy deco in. My Tamara white is taking longer to arrive.

 

My iPhone autocorrect changes Takara to Tamara EVERY TIME.  

 

Indeed, the 'Tamara' White model comes with extra long lashes and a handbag for all occasions.

heh, you should see how ipad autocorrect obsolutely mangles my messages to my French speaking friends. Sometimes they think I've had a stroke.

 

was it his shoulder joint?

I just got mine yesterday and his one shoulder won’t collapse into his back and snap into the other— so I cannot complete train or shuttle modes lol... other than that I love him regardless. Great robot mode. I’m sure it’s an easy fix

 

One was the the rotation joint on the left-hand to flip it out, and the other was the left-hand rotation joint for the cockpit/toe joint.

if anyone knows the fix for his shoulders, please let me know  

 

Well I just figured it out, looking at it closer. One of his shoulders was assembled backwards so it does not butterfly backwards like it supposed to. I’ll have to take him apart and flip it. I think the screw on his back will let me open him up. That’s a drag.

 

Got my MS-18 on Saturday from hzj401. For anyone wondering, shipping speed seems to be pretty normal now, faster even. Took 10 days from shipping notice to delivery. Of course, the Yanwen tracking had zero updates in between/after leaving China, so when it showed up earlier than I expected it was a pleasant surprise.

 

Yeah my MS-18 from hzj401 came today as well, same time frame.

Speaking of his shoulders, the fake wheels next to his head, has anyone tried pulling them off? they're totally extraneous and it might be a sleeker profile without them. ...I'm not gonna do it, in case it damages him, obviously. But they might just be plugged in. Try it and tell me!

edit: ha, they pull right off. But there are little cubes underneath. Guess I could cut/sand them off... meh I'll sleep on it. But he kinda does look better without them.

 

Whelp there you go, ShowZ showed up a day later, shipping to the UK does indeed seem back to normal for now.

Takara deco is very nice! Alt mode is definitely tops since the colours are more real world. Bot looks like an imposing stormtrooper, not sure which one I like better. Both could use a little more paint, mostly in train mode since it’s the weakest, painted wheels would go a long way, and the shuttle could use some windows. I might get around to it on the weekend.

well, that’s my last toy batch for a while. Good times.

Anyone know if BBTS is going to stock the other versions? I kind of want that alternate head on the latest release.

 

Got this guy yesterday and have been fiddling with all 3 modes. He is a lot of fun, and going from mode to mode is pretty straightforward, exactly what I like about this scale. Only improvement would be if the wheels could stay folded against his legs in bot mode. The opposite side addresses it for train mode with a peg.

 

Got my toy and cartoon versions in the mail today. I didn't know MS18 came with a total of three heads: purple (toon), gray (toy), and white (Takara toy):



I performed the head swaps too. I usually prefer toon-accurate schemes but the toy deco in person is much better. The dark gray is a bit too drab. The smaller head, in addition to being better proportioned, also has the benefit of allowing you to tilt the head downwards.

 

WTF... 3 heads?!?!?! woot, that's awesome!!! so basically there's a matched head included that goes for each of the 3 releases.

i'm curious why MS-18 is cheaper than the other two MS-20 releases.

Great that it comes with the other color-matched heads! I think I’ll definitely end up swapping the white version to the new head. Feels more toy-ish.

Wait, I looked away for a while, how many versions of this guy are there, 3? Ms-18, ms-20 and ms-20b? Any differences besides colours? And what's the difference between standard colours ms-20 and ms-18?
