Anyone else pick this up? It rocks. If you played a Kantamari game it is the same thing. If you haven't heard of a Kantamari here is a description. Basically you play as the son (aka The Prince) of the King of the Cosmos. In the first game TKOTC accidentally destroys all the stars in the sky so you have to make new stars. You do this by rolling a stick ball around and picking stuff up. You are given a time limit and a minimum size for the level you have to meet. Anything will stick to the ball as long as it is small enough. Sometimes you are tiny and pick up stuff like coins, pencils, bits of candy. But later on you get really large and pick up people, animals, and buildings. In M&MK the royal family (TKOTC, Queen, and Prince) are on vacation on Earth. Animals and insects have requests for you to make them islands. So you do the normal deal. The controls are changed to fit the PSP. On the PS2 you use both analog sticks, but on the PSP you use the directional buttons and the square, circle, Diamond, and X. this is a little difficult at first and is a little frustrating. But after a little while it becomes easier and easier. Game is lots of fun. If you've beaten a level you can replay it and try to make it bigger. Plus you get the same great music again. I give it a 9/10. the controls are difficult at first but soon become second nature again.
katamari, sir. I don't recall a diamond button either. The original game's creator calls this one garbage. So I'll avoid it. I trust his opinion.
my friend bought the ps2 versions and i played it a little...game is boring to me cuz all u do is roll around and pick things up in the ball. the king also creeps me out hehe.
I love both the PS2 games, they're great fun, but I don't own a PSP and this game's controls just don't seem right to me. I wish they'd made it for DS instead... touch screen just seems so much better suited to that kind've game (IE Samus's ball form in Metroid Prime Hunters and it's touch screen control).
I picked it up last week and haven't been able to put it down. It's a great game. The controls take a while to get used to, but that didn't bother me since I can now take my Katamari with me where ever I go. On a side note, I preordered it from gamestop because they were supposed to be giving away a Katamari PSP case with the preorders, but I still haven't gotten my case yet. Did anyone else preorder the game to get the case? If so have you received it yet?
I BEAT the game a day or two ago and STILL can't put it down. I played it almost nonstop since the day i got it. I must have put 15+ hours into it or more. Plus i've gone back and given the animals bigger kanatmaris. I got 1 kanatmari so big in Eternal mode (no time limit) that i rolled up the King, queen, and granddad. That was over 2,000 meters!! That is a big kantamari. Now i got to get more presents, make more islands better, and play it on a harder level.
again, no such thing as a kantamari. ka ta ma ri. no "n". I dont see how you keep misspelling a word thats in the game's title.
How much is it selling for? I'm curious about it and don't have a PS2 so haven't played the others, but not sure I'd want to risk $50 (or even $40) on it. If it's a budget title I might pick it up though.
Katamari Damacy - $20 (first game) PS2 We Love Katamari - $30 (sequel) Ps2 Me 7 My Katamari - $40 (portable sequel) PSP
