Understood, I was mainly correcting that the prototypes were not made for the purple guy but the purple guy was offered because we liked the prototype. Correcting the course of events.

I'm all in on the comics too. I went in on the red bike level so at least I got something but man. This whole thing has turned me off crowd sourcing forever. It was a cool idea.

 

I'm wondering if big firebird would be a good partner, if the team behind these are still willing to revive the series.

big firebird already is working with some outside designers on action figures, like bird/binary by LAS 91214.

 

I don't know about reviving this line but I certainly would like to see a dependable third party tackle those Tetra-Jet designs that also were used to swindle folks out of money.

Man, am I glad I preordered those through BBTS I stead of backing directly through MAAS.

 

I'd love that to happen! The designs were great. The idea was there. All fell apart.

This might be a dumb question, but since these new designs have the same basic design as the Bastards, does Cassy own the rights to the original CAD design so he's allowed to modify it for his own works that might be created for another company? Or are there no rights-holding for that kind of IP? I'm guessing the Unrustables / Unrustable Bastards as a brand name is owned by Spence, CZ or some combination of the three of them collectively.

Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing if Cassy does manage to go somewhere with this. It's the transforming motorcycle designs that drew me in, not the UB lore, though I'd still like to see the comic one day so we can see what might have been.

 

I doubt there was any legal consideration put into ownership. As far as I can tell, Spence was mostly just the factory liason. Plus, he's off living in a lighthouse so I doubt he cares anymore.
