Literally! The ignore feature here has been a great resource for me.
Sweet! I enjoy working out and eating clean. Probably won't haves time to visit the forum, though...

I don't know, it doesn't sound like the OP was being obsessive about it or anything. It sounds like they were exchanging interests (which is common to do early when getting to know people), and he just listed Transformers among his interests. If him being a fan of Transformers (or 'nerdy' things in general) is a deal-breaker, it's probably best to find out as soon as possible so no one's time is being wasted. The same goes for whatever interests she has.

I personally think that's a good attitude to have. I find it weird when people try to hide or downplay their 'nerdy' interests to make themselves look cooler. You don't want a girl falling in love with a fake version of you. It also implies there's something wrong or shameful about liking that stuff, or that nerdy stuff is a guy-only thing that girls are automatically turned-away by (which is only true in the Big Bang Theory universe). In actuality there are tons of girls who are into nerdy stuff, and would love to date someone with similar interests. If they take problem with your interests or find them juvenile, it's probably best to find someone more accepting.

Just don't overdo it by rattling off a bunch of specialized technical details that won't interest her, unless she's equally invested in the franchise/lore as you are. It won't help her form an interest in the franchise, it will just bore and confuse her. That's the biggest mistake I see people make. Paint in broad strokes and keep your interests accessible. I've seen both guys and girls get too technical in an attempt to impress a potential partner (or even a potential friend). I've even had girls do this to me (often about anime, which I don't like. Video games are another common one.). I find it to be a turn-off because I don't care, and it doesn't help me care or understand why they like it. It just wastes my time because I'm not invested in that thing yet. It would be the equivalent of someone going into depth about the ingredients in a perfume they like...most people just care how it smells, not all the technicals. And yes, I've been guilty of this myself (in platonic friendships, at least).

Just to be clear, I'm not accusing you of doing that (nothing gave me that impression at all), just throwing out some advice based on something I've seen happen a lot, it almost always fall flat.

Let's try to steer back on course, if there is one, instead of criticizing each other and people's dating behaviors.

Unbeknown to you, her real name was Judy and she was cheating on her husband.

    You dodged a bullet here!
