It's been a while since I posted any progress on this project (or any project, to be frank). This one started off as the old 1984 Voltron/ Trendmasters reissue (yes, I know there's differences between the two). Anyways, here we go... the pic on the right is how Voltron looked in his original version from Matchbox (got a pic off the internet, just had to swap blue and yellow lions as they were on the wrong sides. Wish i could remember who took it originally so i can give credit!) and the one on the left is mine for comparison on the mods to it:

Paint is great. Did you add hip articulation?

I’d have to check out the original Trendmaster to fully appreciate your work because you did a spot on job with stylization. Paint work looks great.

Thanks and yes: I added hip articulation. The metal pin/bar the old ones were mounted on snapped, so I took the opportunity to replace the entire section. I also articulated the head so it could turn left and right:

    And added knee articulation:

Much appreciated! I tried to get as close as I could to the original animation.

It was a task, but well worth it.

How did you make the knee articulation?

Actually, it's already there. All you need to do is to trim the sides and the back of Black Lion's thigh a bit, as I did here:

Then it's just a matter of using the joint for Black lion's lower leg for the kneejoint for Voltron.

While I'm at it, I also did a couple of other things; I made a key for him:

Then I made a stand for him:

And he finally found where his key went!

So now he can get into his castle:

I love it. Great job man. I don’t have a Voltron in my collection. I keep waiting for something seperable, articulated, and affordable.

Thanks guys. :)  I had originally wanted to get the SoC GX-71, but the price would not fly in my household. So, after getting my hands on a Trendmasters Voltron (you wouldn't have believed what I paid!) and the metal hip pin breaking, there's where it started. About the only things mine does not have in the articulation department are the waist joint and the ball joint for the 4 lion heads. I still have to rework green and red lions so their heads will still fire but be on ball joints, nd blue and yellow so theirs detach and reattach.
