Mine came with 2 standard faces instead of the smiling face (not the smirk, the other one). Anybody get 2 smiling faces? I don’t want to try to deal with AJP exchanges for just one face

Received mine at the end of the afternoon and just transformed it. Starscream is looking absolutely great. No issues with mine. No cracks, no duplicate faces, no paint blemishes. At least, not that I could see now. ;)

It's evening here and I took some bad quality photos to highlight some points which (others and) I have noticed:

The blue and that circled grey piece should lock in, so that the thruster and the foot are connected.

    BDC151B0-F525-45E6-959E-4292C4A3D61C.jpeg

Don't forget to push the knee guards up. ;)

When folding up the wings against his back, the need to lock in twice. In the circle, that dark grey piece needs to go in to the light grey piece to the right of it in the photo. And that light grey piece then connects to the back. It went fine for me on one side, but on the other side the dark grey piece didn't want to go in. I noticed a small flash on it, which I carefully scraped off with a sharp knife, and then it connected fine.

The booklet shows the air intakes like this, but in the manual you can see how it should really be done.

    3DD1B95B-4AEC-478E-BBA8-61DA3B90432F.jpeg

This is how it should look. And don't forget to put them up straight. ;)

This is how it should look from the front. The air intakes do get pushed to the sides a bit by the backpack. :(

    9AAC76B9-342D-406D-B678-914F4562CD04.jpeg

Make sure to lock in the circled red part below.

    09916558-9154-49E7-AEA6-AB7407DF22A3.jpeg

And then you can also connect it at the back. But as mentioned above, the air intakes do get pushed a bit outward by the backpack. :(

Sorry for the bad quality photos. They're taken with little light. Hopefully I can make some better photos in daylight soon. I hope these photos are helpful to some.

And to think we used to accept mp03. Seems light years away in terms of design, articulation and balance.

My only wish would be he had the same hip design as the newer Autobot cars and Prime, where his skirt moved with his thigh instead of having to flip it up. That's a seamless design touch that I really dig. Would have been the icing on the cake here.

Ha, well that's a tough one, since I have about 5 different shades of red on mine! One certainly looks like plain old Red, another looks closer to Super Italian Red, and the spots that didn't receive as heavy of a coat look like Previous Red. But yeah, for that small of a touch up, regular Red should work. The intakes generally look to be the heavier painted parts on most copies.

Got mine today. The cockpits look fine but I have a pair of cracks on the right stabilizer hinge.

Good tips. Gotta check the thrusters on the bottom of my copy's feet. Not sure if I got that right. Everything else I did!

Spent some time with mine and I can report it's good, not perfect but overall I'm impressed.

Positives: It looks fantastic... like really great and a massive improvement on MP-11, poses well, tabs together nicely, pleasant transformation, good proportions, colours are awesome (love the grey), feels 'quality' due to the weight and sturdiness of it, good use of paint, loads of character, most of the accessories are useful, no real kibble to speak of... no massive backpack!
Negatives: A bit top heavy, weak ankles, I'd have liked more thigh rotation(backpack limits it), the air intakes don't really lock in place and sit too far back for my taste(forward position is a nice option but they look too big up front), that nosecone is a bitch to rotate, wings don't articulate in robot mode unless you undo some transformation, thumbs don't rotate forward, same old terrible stand.
QC issues on mine: Bad paint in 1 eye of two of my faces, nosecone doesn't sit totally flush and thus looks a bit wonky in jet mode.

I wish there was one more swivel at the elbow where the blue and grey meet. It would keep the arm guns at his side in certain poses instead of putting them in front. Not a big deal, but if I had my druthers it would have been that way.

Also, what’s the best way to touch up the red paint on his shoulder intakes? I noticed earlier that some of mine rubbed off when I was getting them in the right configuration. It’s on the inside of the shoulder things.

Definitely, it slightly bugs me the null rays come right to the front when a simple swivel would have fixed it. Oh well slight oversight I guess.

What, no response to my previous question? I asked if anyone thinks Hasbro might do a more affordable release like previous MP Starscreams.

Any particular reason no one seems to be flipping the intakes forward in any of the pics?

No. Easy no. Target has done the Bayverse releases lately, but the G1 releases are all imported Takara pieces thru Pulse.

Now that toysrus are not around with their major world wide distribution and general ease of reach for parents and children I doubt we'll ever see Hasbro repackage cheap MP's anymore. That ship has sailed :(
