^ wow! That guy REALLY gets and understands buttholes! A real connoisseur if I may say so myself.
20 F**KING DAAAAAAAAAYS!!!
I love that times flies when you're older! It doesn't feel like it's almost been a year.
And, for the record, I don't consider those who straight up don't like the toon astectic and prefer a stylized update "haters"; that's just a preference. The true haters know what I'm talking about.
(insert Chappelle "Haters Ball" skits meme hereish)
After the Seekers, the other bots to come next are Jetfire and the Trainbots, right? I was hoping for Soundwave v2...
I’ve heard this said before, but I’m clueless about what it refers to.
What is the “animation error head” on MP44?
Thanks in advance...
The season 1 head for MP-44. All other renditions of Optimus's season 1 head in the modern day have been how it was done when Toei was animating season 1.
Meanwhile Takara seemingly went with how AKOM animated his head sometimes (as in it wasn't even a consistent design of his head for them), that had the small angled eyes and the angled down faceplate
Why they did this is completely beyond me. They've done AKOM stuff in MP before, that those were repaints.
There isn't an animation error head for MP-44. He has his season 1 head and season 2+ head. TakaraTomy refers to them as round head (season 1). Forgot what they call the season 2+ head. He also has the battle damaged head.
Awe damn :/ I totally thought I had POed him already but didn't. Thanks for the heads up.
You could always also preorder on the ami ami website right here:
AmiAmi [Character & Hobby Shop]
Same price and all, as well as similar service as amazon japan.
Hints why they kept coming back.
Yes! Nice one for highlighting the Toei / AKOM differences. I don't see this very often; if at all.
What people refer to as the Season 1 head clearly more closely resembles the (Season 2) AKOM design with regards to the shape of the head, eyes and faceplate.
This is just like Star Cream. Stirs up a bunch of chaos and sits back while we diss him and let hum fly into our hearts. Here’s to you Star Cream, you dastardly spark of a transistor.
For real. Might have to do some real soul searching, but focus on what “your collection” means to you, and pare down the rest; it’s just noise.
It’s not quite the same, but I had to do that with comics, collecting Amazing Spider-Man, all Avengers, Captain America, Daredevil and Iron Man every month. Got to be too much and I wasn’t reading them all every month, especially with kids, buying out of habit and not expanding my collection backward, which is what I really like doing. Upon realizing all I really wanted was Amazing Spider-Man and separating the rest of the collection from them, I got less attached to them.
Same thing with MPs. The ones I really want are the S1 MPs. I’m not there yet, but knowing there is a light at the end of the tunnel makes me happy and I can focus on a subset instead of having to have “all” of them. Makes for a more satisfying hobby, IMO.
Got this advice from my grandfather, who in his day collected trains, and had Lionel, HO, statues, etc., and pared his down to just Lionel before my grandmother almost threw him out of the house.
Preordered and I'm looking forward to this.
Looks at MP Hot Rod ...
Looks at SS Hot Rod ...

Looks at SS Hot Rod alt mode ….
Looks at MP Hot Rod alt mode ….
Looks at SS Hot Rod paint finish ….
Looks at MP Hot Rod paint finish (especially MP-40) ….
No argument there
Well, except...you know what people say when others criticise the backpacks on the recent MP's? The "I don't display them from the back" statement? Well, I don't display that much in altmode. I have a lot of Transformers on the shelf, sometimes some of them are transformed into altmode, but most of them are in robotmode.
And where the robotmodes are concerned... The SS Hot Rod is gorgeous and looks like Hot Rod from the movie and cartoon: shapes, proportions, everything.
In contrast MP Hot Rod is actually more an old CHUG: takes cues, but is very different. It even pales in comparison to MP-9's Hot Rod mode.
Yeah there’s no doubt that CHUG has reached a level on par with early MPs in terms of features, but no way CHUG Sunstreaker stands up against MP Sunstreaker. Same with Megatron, Prime, etc.
A new MP Hot Rod would blow SS Hot Rod so high outta the water he’d be in orbit.
Point taken. I actually quite enjoy displaying MP-40 in alt mode, it’s just one of my favorite looks probably ever lol. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, I love the toys and looks for Hot Rod and Rodimus, but I can’t stand their characterization.
Third time's the charm huh?
Sure worked with Starscream here and with MP-44
