The idea of having these amazing Seekers alongside Megatron makes me really mad I did not buy MP29+ when I could have thinking there was no way that was going to sell for that price and waiting for a sale was the way to go. gfdamn it.

It makes me think, Decepticons are really outnumbered in the official side of things.

They really are. Wonder when they'll tackle another decepticon that isn't just a remake.

250 USD was not an opinion. You stated that as fact. And that discussion has been had before. Various times, with various members. Yes, there are shops that sell it for that price, but you can get it cheaper, for example via Amazon Japan. And you do this more often, choose a high price that some shop asks for a certain MP and then compare that MP to something cheaper, in a one liner, bringing it as a fact. And yes, afterwards you try to explain something, but you keep twisting and turning in the discussions that follow, like now, by not mentioning your chosen high price anymore and making it a discussion about it being an opinion. You'll likely do this again in the Skyfire or Raiden thread, whichever MP will get released first. "Look, Skyfire costs 450 USD and looks like the Siege toy."

    It's a $170 RED figure. Happy?

    No?

Too bad, go do something else.

Of course it wasn't. It's his modus operandi. But every Starscream which looks like the cartoon also looks like this MP, so of course I'm going to say that he's right in regard to the general looks. ;)

Last MP I bought was 44. Took me a bit to save up the almost 600 CDN. I still need 41 and 43. That's like 800 CDN total. That doesn't count all the SS, Generations and Kingdom releases. Now this...

FML.... We have an expensive hobby.

Went back and looked some stuff up from the last release.
    Arcee
    Dec 11 transformation video
Dec 23 twitter pic right before release
    Dec 26 release
    Starscream

    Transformation video??
    Release June 26
Looks like they flipped them, but we got the transformation video at 2 weeks before release, so maybe after next week?

As far as the cockpit, theres a picture from Arcee's twitter picture ( @HolyCulture 's photo) that emphasizes what I said about lighting.

On this photo they took for twitter the whites seem horribly mismatched, while in hand that's not the case. Undoubtedly the same lighting and equipment they used for Starscream. Either way a transformation video will confirm.

For a lot of us, without Amazon JP, this hobby would be almost out of reach. $328 for MP-44 was already hard to swallow. If MP-44 were to be released today, a lot of us will have to pay an additional 30 to 40 dollars (tax) + 20 dollars (DHL bumped their shipping price after pandemic). That's close to $400 bucks.

I really want to help out my fellow Canadians but you`ve got to read the thread. Just in the last 2 pages or so we have been discussing how to buy the MPs cheaper. I paid $464 CAD for MP-44 shipped to my door from Amazon Japan. And now that the Canadian dollar is up it would have been less today. You`re paying way too much. $600 for MP-44 is nuts.

Well, $464 CAD isn't exactly an amazing price for MP-44 either.

…Am I losing my mind, or do these new MP’s look cheaper and far less detailed than many of the older figures did?

I took the plunge on MP29+ last year after deciding he probably wasn't going to decrease in price any time soon. Ended up getting him for 10% above retail after scouring eBay for a few months. Probably not what you wanna hear but... it's 1000% worth it, in my opinion. The painted deep purple pops so much better than the plain lilac plastic of the original.

Honestly, I didn't used to care too much about paint, but now I have a few fully painted figures and they absolutely IMPRESS in my display cases. That extra dimension really stands out for them, and if they're designed smartly and paint is applied well, then paint chipping isn't an issue outside of a few joints that aren't really visible on display- except for the shoulder of my MP36. Like a few other folks here, mine has a chipped spot because they didn't fully push the pin in that contacts the shoulder in gun mode. As long as Starscream has nothing like that, and the grey on the robot canopy matches better in person, I think he's going to be one of my favorite new pieces in years.

Well they are now being based on models that were simplified and had detail removed for the sake of cost-cutting on a really cheap budget. So it make sense why they’ed look “cheap” or plain and have barely any detail.

That’s a phenomenal price….now if they can keep shipping low near $20, you got yourself a winner.

Simplified could be argued. They were definitely made to be more human like. And cost cutting for animation purposes might be wrong as well. It was a style at that time to draw like a marvel superhero. Well it was marvel people afterall haha
