It looks like the chrome fuel tanks end up on his upper back. You can see one poking up over the gun.

Looks like the back of the cab is a clever psych out. Probably appears 'full' in alt mode with the wheels & gas tanks, but you can see that the wheels fold under for the bot mode, which means that section (back of cab alt mode) is actually VERY thin. I think that's what the 'butt flap' is that we're seeing in bot mode - the folded down wheels and then very back of cab alt mode (aka what would otherwise be the G1 model's feet).

 

I hope the butt flap is mistransformed

 

That looks pretty good. Liking the front wheels folded flat against the back. Transformation will be epic!

The rear cabs wheels fold flat and that butt flap is the front of the cab. You can see the windows and even the mirror. It also brings part of the roof with it with how you can see the hinge and the roof of the cab having that cut in it.

 

Because MP10 is too chunky bro for one bro. If he is a bot in armour there isnt a way conceivable to make him use his existing MP 10 thighs plus Magnus car carrier feet without having them snap off and go around his legs like boots.
TakaraTomy have not gone this route so this discussion is over anyway.

I can't see windows or mirrors anywhere there. All I see is where the rear cab wheels are clearly folded in, and then what looks to be the section behind them hanging there. As far as I can tell, the cab itself still very much plugs into the main chest as expected.

 

That new image is super clear and explains everything pretty much. Good to know the text in the article was not telling porkies about there being no robot cab.

The transformation of the cab looks to be quite interesting... now that I have kinda worked out the transformation I am much happier about it.

The cab looks to be quite hollow and simply unfolds to hang behind magnus torso... interesting.

 

With the wide eyes and face plate vents, notice how what is there of the Optimus Prime head is an homage to the G1 toy, not the cartoon?

Anyways, I think he looks pretty much perfect. My only concerns/nitpicks are the buttflap, his squinty eyes, waist articulation, and whether he'll have white or red thighs. That his thighs look like they're a part of the lower trailer bed makes me worry they'll be red.

 

It's no wonder Magnus couldn't open the matrix, his hands massive compared to MP-10.!  

Even MP-10 couldn't hold the matrix (MP-1 and MP-10 versions) properly. Magnus's are so huge, they look like they will wrap around the matrix entirely.

You need dainty hands like MP-9 to handle the matrix properly. That's why he's the chosen one!

The silhouette didn't have the butt flap, did it? Makes me think it can be folded up.

This feels.... off. His legs look to thick or something. I know he is supposed to be big. But his proportions look off to me.

I know that paint changes everything, so I will wait to see on that. Not sure why, but the last couple of MPs haven't WOWed me.

Wheeljack is gorgeous, but BB and him, are meh.
