That's about where I'm at with him too. Unless this new mold is a disaster like Hound, I plan to get the main three to replace the jacked KBB MP-11 KOs I have.

Takara has been doing a great job since MP-36 (and the + variants of the carbots) of using true black very sparingly. The near black shades of grey do a great job of conveying the toon look while also looking very premium and letting smaller details show that would other wise be lost if true black was used.

It’s something that sounds simple in practice but I’ve seen first hand how awkward it looks if you get it wrong. Wound up selling this guy the day after I got him lol.

It’s going to be very interesting to see how they handle the color palette on Skywarp.

This is actually pretty quick for them. I'm fairly sure Arcee and Starscream were a few days behind

This is a shame, i payed Starscream 190 euro shipped from a local seller, this one is a straight repaint (no exclusive) and its base price will be 217 euro :(

Then 52+, so skywarp is totally a maybe?

That's the problem with TTMall exclusives (or any manufacturer's web exclusives, really), in that nobody's sourcing them with the nice ~20-30% retailer discounts from Japan. Full MSRP all the way.

I'm sure Skywarp will be labelled as MP 52 Starscream 3.0

Has anyone already explained why this mold is labeled 2.0 instead of 3.0? Is the MP-11 mold not considered a full-on update to the MP-03 mold?

Given your lack of post history, I'm going to assume this is an honest question. Not your fault, but the topic/question has been addressed about a bajillion times since Starscream's announcement, and we're all just a little tired of it.

But to give the answer to you straight, if you're going to use version numbers with a decimal format, then whole number revisions typically denote completely new architecture. Or at the very least, what you're considering a new product benchmark (such as the case in gaming, where people would be most familiar with such version numbers, whole numbers usually represent the game's release, and then subsequent expansions). Decimal revisions are used to represent updates of previous versions (game patches).

In this example, MP-11 would only classify as ver "1.5", because it still carries over significant tooling from the MP-3 release. This new mold gets the 2.0 designation because it's a ground-up redesign from scratch, a full second version.

XD in my personal headcanon is Prime to have a fault number, because if you consider the MP10 as a start of reboot mp line, every mp with and without (megatron, ultra magnus) x.x version is numbered correctly.

This thing is borderline soap bottle. I like MP-11 because it looks like the cartoon. But this thing looks like a cartoon, if you get the difference. The MP line is dead as far as Im concerned.

Heh, once again TT designations make no sense, MP-52+? I guess after Spinout this is now the second m 'plus' release thats a different character to the original version, what the heck are they going to call the inevitable Skywarp? Good news that he TT didn't cheap out on the stand in the end, and he is negligibly cheaper(sorta maybe). However being a TT Mail exclusive no retailer discounts so it reality he'll be more expensive than Starscream for most. Luckily I'm not in the seeker game, I'll get my Screamer and I am done!
