There's always the ko Thundercracker if you need extra parts.

I'm still loving this one months later! Although this should have been up back in October or November, here is my review of this guy if anyone is interested.

Performed a little surgery today. I requested replacement parts for MP-52+ SW and TC from Omegalock a while back, as they both had issues (SW has a crack in the plastic near the knee joint, which puts it at risk of failure, and TC had a number of paint defects).

Received the parts yesterday and was surprised that they sent me an entire replacement torso for TC! Spent thirty minutes swapping the arms, legs and tailfins over, which was fairly involved for the legs. Had to disassemble them at the shin, knee, thigh and hip in order to crack them open enough to clear mushroom pegs, move bits to the other torso etc. Was a bit nervy, but thankfully nothing broke. The arms were a doddle, as they are just held on by three screws.

That sad part is that my original reason for requesting parts was the obvious paint defect on his front-facing left shoulder pad, but that's the only bit they didn't send from the list I requested... Doesn't even require a new arm, just the front pad, so I might go back to them again and see whether they just forgot to put it in the box. Gonna leave SW's leg be for now, as it is a job to disassemble and I'll probably crack it in doing so owing to the existing issue. The spare also has a little paint transfer from TC as they were in the same bubble wrap, so the old leg is better aesthetically speaking. At least I have the spare should I ever need it.

Anyway, I actually quite enjoyed tinkering around with these. Gives one a greater appreciation for the poor folks working in the factories assembling them! Pic of the quadruple amputee TC and the happy recipient of his donor parts below!

That’s a decent price, but I can’t decide if the transformation is too complex to paint without risk of excessive scratching and chipping. I really want a toy-deco TC colored similarly to MP-7. The stock toon deco looks really dull to me.

The arms, especially the forearms, and air intakes on the shoulders seem to get the most scratched from what i've seen. The arms sometimes get scratched because they fold up inside the body for the most part and the intakes have a moving piece that can scratch. I'm confident you could re-paint it and it not turn into a big mess.

I remember seeing some issues with this mold, though I think they mostly trouble Starscream. Anything of note on Thundercracker that might keep me from getting in on that BBTS sale?

Thundercracker is great! I think one of the common' issues is not a mold flaw, but rather that it might come with a wrong (double) face. Actually, I had that with MP Skywarp and not Thundercracker.

I got a second stoic face, instead of a smiling face.

Overall mine had less issues than my Starscream. My Starscream had cracks on the ankle posts and posts where the engine nozzles connect. My Thundercracker was looser at 1 leg or knee and seemed to have had a thumb pin fired at a slightly offset angle.

I have three of the smiling face on my official MP-52+ Thundercracker and none of the stoic face, which is the one I wanted most. Want to do a trade? PM me if interested.

If you are worried about paint chipping I would not recommend this or indeed any modern MP. If you transform them, you will get minor paint chips.

I'm cool with the Deformation Space version. $84 shipped is too good to pass up.

Third MP in my collection (first is Skywarp and second is Prowl.) He’s as amazing as Skywarp…until one part. Does anyone know a way to get the jet cockpit to be straight? It won’t fully line-up. 2D64BBC2-C71F-4686-8C23-01ECFE06C060.jpeg 6E5F5E0D-39FA-4E76-9C53-CB54DAEE974D.jpeg 4B0DCADB-054B-49EA-9BAB-924A9B0471D0.jpeg

Was it straight when you took him out of the box?
If it was, than you must me doing something wrong. Try checking if the middle hinge (the one that collapses after folding the front part of the nose) is fully stretched. I haven't transformed mine in a while, but I think you should hear a soft click.

Preorder? Wasn’t the release date like September of last year?

Very sorry I didn’t reply! Thought I did. I did check and to no avail. I had to return the copy for a new one. But it all ended well and I’m enjoying TC now 6779C15E-B9C8-4E56-853C-2E1F8FF2CF56.jpeg
