Both my mp Starscream and Skywarp are the same way as far as the rattling legs.

Even the "original" Takara MP-03 Starscream has ratling legs, don't fret.

I make all my MP Seekers stand just fine. :)

My Skywarp can stand on his thrusters only.:p  And there's no issues, whatsoever with the plastic.

Twist his lower legs so that his feet point out to the sides just a bit. This will adjust his posture so that he leans forward a bit more and thus is able to stand. You should be able to get him to stand this way even with the hip kibble pointing straight backwards.

Also: The Takara version has the wing stripe stickers; the Hasbro version's stripes are painted. Quality-wise, the hasbro version is looser overall than the Takara version. Like Hasbro MP Starscream, the plastic seems stronger and harder than the Takara version's plastic. The Hasbro one is probably more durable, but the Takara one looks nicer. Color-wise, the Hasbro one wins hands down. Takara's version has issues with the grey bits and the purple looks far too pink. On the other hand, The Takara version has red eyes and nicer wing stripes.

I simply switched the heads on mine, seeing as their simply on a ball-joint.

Now if only the feet were purple....

Match the paint and repaint the nose.

Hmm, IMHO all the Takara version has going for are its better quality plastic/ purple parts more vibrant. Hasbro's as usual is pretty bland. However, having said that, the wingtips on the Hasbro version,as well as its yellow painted eyes do make for a better aesthetics. :D

Maybe a wing swap and head swap using the Hasbro version- transplanted onto the Takara version's body would make the perfect Skywarp MP! :D

Hmm, so you say the Takara version IS sturdier than hasbro's (I mean better plastic, less floppy)? I'm still undecided between them since i tend to transform my TFs pretty often.

Can someone provide solid, definitive and straightforward information and pictures on where to cut/shave off the wing joint?

Yup. although i don't own either Skywarp, but my Takara MP Starscream is pretty solid and less floppy.. makes it better for displaying purposes. :D

:lol  Well Bro, there is always the Radicon kitbash forum... go and search there, or post a thread on this particular topic. Cheers! :D

i notice that some people who are complaining about how mp seekers in bot mode can't stand up without the base, are not folding his knee joints properly.

they're not as stable as mp grimlock but i display mine without the base and there's no problem

Seconded. There's a "hidden" joint/stop/position in the knee. Makes all the difference.

One final question: can you recolor his eyes red with a sharpie?

again, this fandom's obsession with "painting" with sharpies. why would you want to use a sharpie? use real paint. it'll work, and it won't look awful.

I hope no one is going to destroy their MP Skywarp's face to validate it for you, but a red marker over yellow paint is going to look like crap.

Well, I've never painted a toy (well, i did paint a RiD prowl red with testors but... it was a horrible disaster) and I've seen some people that did remarkable detailing with only a sharpie (since a good sharpie is a great quality tool, better than any ordinary marker). I don't know how translucent it actually is, if it isn't thick enough it will end up looking horrible like you mention. Incidentally i still have that red paint if i want to change my skywarp's eyes (though the yellow isn't that bad after all)

But that is kinda why i wanted to ask first. I guess an experienced kitbasher would know without having to "ruin his toy" for me.
