If hands don't need to fold into the arms then they don't. Seekers/Coneheads, Wheeljack/Exhaust and Star Saber's don't either.

 

Im a Quakewave guy and am not getting the official but you have to be kidding yourself after seeing that chosen prime video to not think that the official one is hands down the more accurate representation of Shockwave. Still love my Quakewave though

 

Charles in his video review says that MP Shockwave does have diecast on his feet as well as the hinge that connects the gun barrel to his back. Chosen Prime's review, however, says he doesn't have any diecast when he was comparing it to Quakewave so whoever has him, does MP Shockwave have diecast or not?

I still need to get around to actually messing with Hot Rod. Weird that I haven't by this point... I think I'm just looking forward to Shockwave so much more!

Fortunately there shouldn't be too many QC duds, what can they get wrong with so little paint! I say that totally in a positive way  

 

Paid my anime export shipping fee wednesday and

they still haven't shipped my mp 29, does anyone know how long before anime export ships it? Still waiting for the shipping email from them and nothing yet. I paid the shipping fee Wednesday.

I'm happy to hear the head locking thing is a non-issue. And the waist extension / swivel is also a nice touch.

Surprised how dark he looks even in Optibotimus' video considering he harnesses the power of a supernova for his lighting!   And again size is clearly exactly what it should be - I just don't understand why anybody expected anything different???

 

Found a big design flaw. Actually not that big, but annoying as hell. So you extend the waist to access the waist swivel and the ab crunch and fold away the trigger. The problem with mine is that the entire forward ab crunch is hindered by the trigger.

The bottom of the trigger bumps into the center post that houses the ab ratchet. So while you can get the ab ratchet to work, there is constant friction between the two pieces causing the ab to want to reset and spring back to the neutral position. It makes it really hard to keep that ratchet joint staying crunched. Combined with the heavy diecast on the back, it just pulls backwards unless you get the trigger aligned just right.

PITA. major. So I opened up the waist and shaved down that part of the trigger. It doesn't affect anything whatsoever. Isn't visible in either mode. If anyone else is having this issue I recommend doing the same. It's three easily accessed screws on the waist.

In neither the TCP, Charles or Optibotimus review did I see them do more than wiggle that joint back and forth a bit. You might see this pop up as an issue in other reviews in the future.

 

Very good news indeed and I have to admit seeing him stood with Soundwave hight difference isn't quite as jarring as I'd feared. I just wish they'd gone for a deeper colour, when he brought out the original G1 toy I immediately though, that is a better colour.

 

Very pleasantly surprised that my initial impressions were off on Shockwave. It took the reviews of Optibotimus and Chosen Prime to sway me, great job guys. Ill be glad to add him to the collection now.

Side note: Takara REALLY needs to get better photographers for the Masterpiece line to show them off in a better light.
