Way to keep your toy safe!
a little on the pink side, but a drop or 2 of "grabber blue" should pull it a little more towards the purple/pink on Shockwave.
Promising looking project you got here...
hey, everyone's doing it, even Hasbro. (OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH SNAP)
alright...need to find a local retailer who sells Model Master paints...but that should work.
and thanks for the comments dude
UPDATE DECEMBER 11TH;
Not much to say for an update, aside from a few slight adjustments on the Shockwave body to allow for full arm movement. These pictures are mostly a mock-up of the full figure.....in its rough stages of course
The orange cap continues on with its coolness
lol I should ask the commissioner if I should paint the cap bright orange for the lolz.
also gang, the gun itself....does it look goofy with that little extension (HA ha) in the middle?
You should at least make a removable cap just for lolz
so doing that. XD
This is so AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is really coming along. love the over all aesthetic of it. very nice.
thanks man, bet you can imagine how I feel making it
well once I can get more styrene I'll have more updated pictures. The Skywarp waist just doesn't cut it, so when in doubt, build it from scratch right?
I can't wait to see this in all its finished glory!
UPDATE! DECEMBER 22ND;
Yes, I actually have an update. With the shipment of styrene (thanks again to Grand_Maximus. And don't worry, still plenty for your commissions man ), I was able to finish off the waist and the second leg. Still finishing up the head, and awaiting moving to my dorm to grab some much-needed Tamiya putty to smooth out the corners and overall shape.
I have also decided on a colour; Krylon Plum for the main body, and some Testors purple lacquer for the gun, hand and chest piece.
in any case, here's the images;
How will the larger legs end up affecting the alt mode?
completely affects it. the commissioner wanted an articulate Shockwave, as I (think I) mentioned earlier. Well that and once I finished the first leg, I didn't want to rip it back off and possibly damage the G1 Shockwave leg ^^;
Yeah, the reason I ask is:
I'm just interested in seeing it transformed, given the bulk of the legs.
well, I have been thinking it over, and there is a way I can maybe thin the tops out to look like the reference pic...XD completely forgot thew skywarp legs have a similar shape, just way thinner
hey todd, wanted to post a pic of the similar work I've been doing on MP Megatron's legs. all styrene. It was tough hitting all the curves and details on the legs, but I widened them about 3/4" each
hmm...well, I guess it wouldn't hurt; the legs were the only things preventing me from transformation. lol I guess I didn't want to ruin something I thought I got right but I suppose that sort of judgment comes with experience
all right, I'll give it a try!
UPDATE! DECEMBER 23RD;
a Major MAJOR update for today guys. After numerous suggestions to thin the legs, I decided to stop being stubborn and go for it.
Note to self for next time: LISTEN TO THE PROFESSIONALS!
Anyways, what have I accomplished...
- thinned out the legs to allow for a much easier to grip handle for the commissioner.
- started work on gun mode, set foundation for said mode
- continued with aesthetic details
(Don't ask why it's in the bathroom. I was too lazy to clear off the top shelf to take a few photos)
