Legs are now fully assembled and solid. Will focus on the finishing touches/painting the lower legs whilst the arms print:

Wider shot to give that sense of presence:

Mp44 best start looking over his shoulder.....

Pulled some shelves down to look at where this guy is going to be displayed. Whilst that's happening I brought TW Constructor in for a size comparison (with mp44 & mp45):

    Picsart_22-10-15_16-56-08-522.jpg

I remember when I thought Constructor was massive! One claw attached, other being painted. Arm cladding/armour now being printed.

    Getting closer!!

Starting to look at Fortress Maximus now. Rebirth had him a head taller than Scorponok so he's gonna be about 5" taller!

    Already made him!

Just need to print a few updated parts. He comes in at 16". Same height as the Grand Max I've already printed.

    The UK’s answer to Liketoys.

Can I expect you to start taking orders soon? :p

On a serious note, fantastic work!! I am looking forward to you completing this Scorpy. Just out of curiosity how much resin and time has it taken you to get this far with the build/print?

Have you decided to do your own Fort Max or are you content to settle with FTs version?

Thanks bud. Because of the forced break when my first printer died I can't remember how many rolls I used in 2020. A Conservative estimate of £200-250 in pla alone. Numerous replacement nozzles and I had to replace some fans as my old printer was dieing. So around £300 in total by the end. Prep time in getting parts well tolerenced and ready for painting is off the scale.

Already prepping for Fort Max. Rebirth styling and approx 5" taller.

Oh and another Headmaster turned up....

    Picsart_22-10-17_17-37-59-466.jpg

Mindwipe reissue is immenent I believe too.

Wow - that’s quite the quantity for a build of this size. Printing time for a figure of this scale must be off the charts as well. Do you find yourself hanging about watching the print or letting the printer do its thing?

I can imagine prep work takes up masses of time as well. I’ve been getting into the collection of JoyToy Warhammer 1:18 scale figures. I’ve also been purchasing 3d printed accessories and getting stuck in to painting them up. I’ve also got some actual figures to paint. That takes time and the size of the JT Warhammer is just a fraction of what you are working with. I must admit I would prefer working with larger scale given with age I require varifocal lenses. Lol. Working on detail up close is a struggle.

My bad I should have realised you had mentioned you had already decided on doing Fort Max in previous posts. That will teach me to not skim read.

If you get Liketoys Metroplex that would make for quite the display having your own printed up Scorpy and Fort Max.

I will look forward to further updates to this thread of yours.

    FT Skully looking great.

Smallest print time for ratchet posts is 30 mins, longest was the torso, 105hrs!

I've tried to print in similar colours to the paint to minimise any faffing around but there's only the left shoulder pad to go now and the robot structure itself is complete. Just tail/stinger, gun, insect legs and toy leg armour to go but I might pause on them and start on Fort Max as Scorpy will be 'complete' for display purposes.

I'll have a pic of that complete robot by the end of the weekend all being well :)

I think you're doing a bang-up job on this! Very eager to see your rendition of Fort Max in this scale!

    So.....

I was gonna pause on Scorponok and start Fort Max but I've decide to go the full hog and finish him up as I'm really not that far in the grand scheme of things. Remember when I wore the lower leg as forearm armour and couldn't get over the size?

    FB_IMG_1667337318974.jpg

Well here's the reprint of the lower right leg looking positively tiny behind HALF of the (unpainted) tail:

    Picsart_22-11-01_21-08-31-491.jpg

The tail comes in at a whopping 22", bigger than the entirety of Earthrise Scorponok. At least another 22" to go......
