This figure was something I had on the work bench for a while, but I wanted to do something different with him to give him more rounded and shaped legs than the traditional Galvatron customs..... then I saw Kingoctox's version using the Darth Vader legs. It was genius and was the look I was going for. I wanted to keep the bulky and blocky upper body to give him the imposing look Galvatron should have, but the legs had to be bulked up a bit more to look somewhat proportional so I added some armor from an Iron Man figure. The head was 99% scratch built using styrene and a few other figures as donors.

The transformation is extremely simple, but really follows the original G1 look of the "cannon" IMHO.

Big thanks to Kingoctox and ThyVipera for the inspiration and ideas. He will be for sale on eBay this evening!

WOW! I like how different it is from the typical energon Megatron customs.

I really like this. It came our great. My only complaint is that he almost looks as if he has no nose.

This is a cool piece and inspiring. I ‘m in the process of doing another Galvie custom with a somewhat different take on the engineering, but I think it great that guys are also starting to come up with a different take too, as you have done with your Galvatron’s lower region, from the many, fantastic, but usual Energon Megatron figure. Basically I think it really cool. :thumbs2:

Allow me to preface my comments by saying that this is without question the closest anyone gotten, in my eyes, to absolutely nailing Galvatron. Part selection is genius, and the execution is just breathtaking. And the paint is closer to perfect than anyone has any business being. Kudos to you, Z, for producing such an amazing custom!

I will say also that, while the face was a shock to me at first, it's definitely grown on me.

The only detriment I see (and this is by no means a strike against it...I love it!) is, while the perfect design to go with this character, I find the legs are a tad too small (to illustrate, please see the attached image). I wish there'd be a knockoff version of those legs somehow, sometime, that would be a tad oversized to allow for this to be revisited down the road. But, since you expressly said you wanted that effect, it's a matter of personal fiat.

Also: I'm thinking it'd look better if there were some way for the knees to bend sideways to allow the stock of the cannon to more closely resemble the original. Again, you're limited by the engineering of the legs, but it sure would be awesome, as that'd throw it headlong in to the realm of perfection.

Despite these nitpicks, this is phenomenal work, and I love it!

As a whole, it looks awesome. You just kind of lost me with the alt mode.. the rear end looks a little odd to me, but that might just be me. And the face looks a little off as well.

Maybe it's just me, but the legs look stubby. Like he's got that little man, "I gotta put on some muscle" thing going. Edit, nope, just read Shwiggie's post. And what he did in the photo would help a ton.

Still, far better than anything I could ever do. Excellent stuff.

Thanks for the suggestion and compliments, but the look I achieved is exactly what I was shooting for. I wanted him to have the skinnier legs and hulking upper body similar to this picture:

I think it gives him that "I am more powerful than you think" type of look that you get with the bodybuilder that strut around any and every gym you go to! :D

Look at the pic above.... I think I achieved, with the parts I used, the look pretty closely.

See above! Thanks for the comments guys.

Love the more rounded legs and the paint job is awesome.

What size hands are those? Or where did you get them? I'm in need of a set for this same figure.
