Well as we know, Takara and Hasbro have a rather good reputation when it comes to their Masterpiece line, although saying that Megatron never did get any repaints.

But what about our good friend Rodimus?
I mulled this over for a while and I can't really think of what Takara or Hasbro would do other than a Cartoon, 'Toy' or Comic repaint, this is assuming of course that a) the three are different anyway and b) it's different enough to warrant a repaint.

    What do you guys think?

Well I imagine the could do a wild rider repaint like henkei ( although unlikely) dark rodimus ( even more unlikely). I think as cool as rodimus is the cross promotional use of the mold is rather limiting.

It'd be cool to see it get the Menasor treatment like the SDCC Titanium Rodimus Exclusive (I think it was a SDCC exclusive...).

There will be a black redeco for sure.

Maybe a white one too; Hot Magnus or Ultra Rod?

    Just kidding :D

We may get a crystal version of RP. Do not see him being anyone else at this point? The one thing I am thinking about @ the moment is what size he will be? I am guessing that since they are giving him the display stand of Masterpiece Optimus Prime he will probably be around the same height. Either that or he will be on the smaller scale like grimlock.

Meh. All I can see is varying degrees of comic/TV show accuracy in repaints (the inevitable Western release might take the Grimlock route of being more comic accurate or similar)

Either way I'll be happy as long as we have a more orangey alternative if they release him with a pink paintjob (movie/TV series accurate?)

Other than making the design more show accurate than however close this ends up being, I don't see any repaint options other than Dark Rodimus.

I am hopeful this will also be released later in the US to make the most out of this design that doesn't have much use for repaints.

We will probably get a crystal version, but another idea is that if the red ferrari in Transformers 3 is Rodimus, then we might get an all red movie masterpiece version.

I can totaly see me posing a dark roddy with a sharpie goatee, ripping out the matrix of leadership from sleep convoy's chest...

or, if hes SS and Grimlock size, have him posed with Igears evil purple prime repaint doing the same thing!

Assuming that the today's news is correct, and it's Rodimus Prime rather than Hot Rod, I'd hope for a black repaint as Menasor (as someone else mentioned), so I can display it with my Titaniums one :)

Or...it could just simply cost more like Grimlock did. There may be no repaint.

Grimlock was 50% more expensive than previous MP figures, almost without reason. There have been exclusive oddities with him and an upcoming general release...but not a hint of a "Trypticon" or G2 Grimlock.

I expect Rodimus to get a "movie" coloring and a US release when the movie toys hit next year. I bet his price will be around $150 and that this will carry forward with their model for non-redeco-able characters.

Yea, I'm seeing more of an MP Grimlock treatment with this. If we do get a redeco, it will most likely be a movie/toon/comic accurate version.

I think they'll do one like Black Rodimus or Henkei Wildrider (except without the red and as Rodimus).

So black and gray, but not black, purple, and gray like Titanium Menasor or SG Rodimus.
